About this opportunity

Pinellas County School Board is seeking uniform suppliers through Invitation to Bid #25-JG-060 to provide comprehensive uniform solutions for approximately 2,600 employees across five operational service departments: Food & Nutrition, Maintenance, Plant Operations, Transportation, and Warehouse. The procurement requires vendors to supply various uniform items including t-shirts, polo shirts, utility shirts, work pants, shorts, jackets, and accessories, with specific requirements for Dickies brand or equivalent quality, detailed fabric compositions (typically 65% polyester/35% cotton), and precise color and sizing specifications. Bidders must include logo setup costs for silk screening, embroidery, and digitizing within unit pricing, with uniform sizes ranging from XS to 8XL. The bid submission deadline is September 26, 2025, at 3:00 pm, to be submitted electronically through the District's OpenGov Procurement portal, with physical uniform samples required alongside the electronic bid. The contract period will commence on October 29, 2025, and conclude on October 28, 2026, with options for two additional one-year renewals. Evaluation criteria will likely include pricing, product quality, logo application capabilities, and compliance with detailed uniform specifications provided in the solicitation documents.

The procurement does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged businesses, though typical public sector bids often include such provisions. Vendors must be prepared to handle individualized uniform orders as small as a single item and provide pricing for each size category, with an expected size distribution of 60-70% for smaller sizes and 30-40% for larger sizes. The estimated annual contract value is approximately $225,000, though actual purchases may vary based on departmental needs. The solicitation allows for personal employee purchases using cash, credit card, or check, and extends pricing potential to other Pinellas County schools and departments. Uniform suppliers must demonstrate the ability to provide first-quality items from specified or equivalent manufacturers, with comprehensive warranty terms and the capability to meet precise logo placement and quality standards. The district will process purchases through tax-exempt purchase orders or district Visa purchasing cards, and requires vendors to maintain flexible inventory and delivery capabilities to the Walter Pownall Service Center.
