About this opportunity
Salt Lake County's Division of Contracts and Procurement is seeking a sole source procurement for an Automated Material Handling (AMH) Sorter for the Salt Lake County Library system. The procurement specifically targets a TechLogic AMH system that must precisely match the library's existing equipment infrastructure. The new system requires the installation of proprietary AST Software, which is exclusively compatible with TechLogic systems. Installation and validation will be performed exclusively by TechLogic or an authorized TechLogic installation partner, ensuring system continuity and compatibility. The request for information (RFI) was posted on August 16, 2025, with responses due by August 22, 2025. Potential vendors or parties who dispute the sole source designation are instructed to email the Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement Division contact person. The procurement appears to be a direct replacement and expansion of the current library's material handling technology, with strict requirements for system integration and vendor-specific technical specifications.
The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. TechLogic is identified as the sole source vendor for this procurement, which effectively limits competitive bidding. The current infrastructure is a TechLogic AMH system, and the new procurement seeks to maintain technological consistency by purchasing from the same manufacturer. While no specific budget range or award value is explicitly stated in the documentation, the procurement is for a specialized library technology system. The jurisdictional scope is limited to Salt Lake County, Utah, with the procurement being managed through the county's Division of Contracts and Procurement. The sole source nature of the procurement suggests that TechLogic will be the direct vendor, with no competitive alternatives being considered for this specific technological solution.
Opportunity text
The Division of Contracts and Procurement has received a request to purchase from a "sole source" vendor. If, for any reason, any party does not agree that this sole source purchase is applicable, please email the contact person for Salt Lake County Contracts and Procurement Division. The Salt Lake County Library is seeking to purchase an AMH System from Tech Logic. The new unit must match the current system/equipment that the Library has in place. The AMH system in place is a TechLogic branded system that is sold, installed, and supported exclusively by TechLogic. The AST Software, as installed, is proprietary software exclusive to TechLogic systems. Installation and validation are a proprietary method to be performed by a designated tech from TechLogic, or a TechLogic installation partner only.
