About this opportunity

Clayton County Public Schools is soliciting qualifications under RFQu 006-27 for on-call transportation parts and repairs, with a non-mandatory pre-qualification conference on November 5, 2026 and submissions due December 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The solicitation carries a Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) participation opportunity valued at 5% of the evaluation score, under a program with a 15% contracting goal. Failure to meet that goal or document good faith efforts renders a bid non-responsive.

Eligible SLBEs are for-profit small businesses located and operating in Clayton County or the Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area, with a physical presence and current business license in that jurisdiction for at least one year before bid submission. Certified SLBE-CLAYTON businesses receive a preference, including 5 points in RFP initial evaluations and a bid-match right within 5 percent in IFBs.

Scope covers on-call repair of school buses, sedans, and light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks at facilities in Jonesboro, Riverdale, and Lovejoy, Georgia. Services include engine, transmission, suspension and steering, brake, electrical, heating and air conditioning, fuel system, and diagnostic work on diesel, gasoline, propane, and compressed natural gas vehicles. Minimum qualifications require two years of diagnostic and maintenance experience, full licensing for diesel, gasoline, and propane engine, transmission, electrical, and brake work, and manufacturer authorization for warranty work. Awardees must provide a minimum 90-day warranty on labor and parts and a maximum two-day parts turnaround. Required insurance includes $1,000,000 each in general and automobile liability, plus statutory workers' compensation. All contractors must comply with E-Verify under O.C.G.A. 13-10-91.

The term is one year with four successive one-year renewals ending each June 30, commencing within ten calendar days of notice to proceed. Cost proposals cover in-shop and on-site hourly labor rates, a diagnostic service call fee, and a parts markup or discount percentage. CCPS intends multiple awards but reserves the right to make one award or none.

Questions are due November 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., with answers posted by addendum on November 19. An intent to bid is due December 2, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Oral presentations, interviews, or demonstrations may be held January 6–8, 2027 if necessary. Responses are submitted through the Bonfire Portal.
