The procurement aims to identify a qualified vendor capable of providing full-scale maintenance and repair services for emergency vehicle fleets, with the potential for other Connecticut fire departments to utilize the resulting contract. Proposal submissions will be accepted through the Town's e-Procurement Portal from March 13, 2025, to April 10, 2025, with a vendor question and answer period running from March 17, 2025, to April 3, 2025. The town intends to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder who can effectively meet the fleet's maintenance requirements, with the primary contact being Brandishea Davy, reachable at 860-444-5842 or bdavy@waterfordct.org. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on vendor capability, responsiveness, technical expertise in emergency vehicle maintenance, and overall service reliability. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be determined by the selected vendor.
The RFP documentation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or minority-owned businesses. No incumbent vendors are identified in the provided materials, and there are no specified restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to the solicitation. The document suggests a broad, flexible approach to vendor selection, focusing on comprehensive service capabilities rather than narrow organizational requirements. While no specific budget range or estimated contract value is outlined in the available documentation, the solicitation indicates an openness to vendors who can demonstrate robust emergency vehicle maintenance capabilities. The contract appears designed to provide flexibility for the Waterford Fire Department and potentially other Connecticut fire departments, suggesting a potentially significant regional opportunity for qualified maintenance service providers.
