About this opportunity
Mattawan Consolidated School District in Van Buren County, Michigan is soliciting competitive bids for the installation of comprehensive audiovisual (AV) presentation systems in the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) and Athletic Team Room facilities. The procurement encompasses classroom AV teaching stations, gymnasium AV systems, team room locker room presentation systems, all associated cabling infrastructure (CAT-6 network connectivity, HDMI, USB, and audio distribution), equipment installation, labor, materials, and system testing. The specification requires integration of Crestron control systems, Front Row CB6000 and CB2000 touch panel controllers, wireless microphone receivers, audio mixers and amplifiers, short-throw and long-throw projectors, interactive displays, HDMI switchers, network infrastructure, and custom mobile lecterns across multiple classroom and facility configurations. All personnel must be manufacturer-certified, and the Project Manager must provide references for three similar projects completed within the last three years. Bids will be evaluated on prices (25%), prior experience (20%), personnel qualifications (10%), long-term total cost of ownership (5%), upgradability (5%), compatibility with district hardware (5%), understanding of needs (5%), compliance with technology plan (5%), completeness (5%), implementation summary (5%), and successful completion (5%). A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 14, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Mattawan Consolidated Schools Administration Offices (56720 Murray Street, Mattawan, Michigan). Written questions must be submitted by February 26, 2020, to Tony Nuismer (tnuismer@mattawanschools.org, 269-585-3052). Two bound copies of sealed proposals (one marked ORIGINAL and signed by a duly designated officer) must be submitted by 11:00 AM on February 28, 2020, with all work to be completed by August 1, 2020, and site access available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
No set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise restrictions are specified in the procurement documents. Successful bidders for work valued at $50,000 or more must secure Performance, Labor, and Material Bonds for 100% of the contract value from Michigan-licensed surety companies with an A.M. Best rating of A- or better, with bond costs included in proposals. Contractors must maintain workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability, and umbrella insurance coverage, naming the District as additional insured. All project personnel may be required to pass Michigan State Police Background checks and National Crime Information Center fingerprint checks. The procurement documents do not identify any incumbent vendors, current contractors, or existing infrastructure requiring integration beyond standard district technology compatibility requirements. No specific budget range or award value is stated in the bid documents, though the bonding requirement suggests the contract value may exceed $50,000. The District reserves the right to waive formalities, reject any or all bids, and accept the bid most favorable to the District.
