About this opportunity
The City of South Jordan is requesting proposals for spray-applied structural-grade geopolymer lining services for approximately 1,680 linear feet of culvert infrastructure, with proposals due October 28, 2026 through the State of Utah's Bonfire procurement platform. The City intends to select one contractor through this competitive RFP process.
The scope encompasses consultation, material furnishing, and preparation and installation services across three culvert chambers (Chamber 1: 1,020 linear feet; Chamber 2: 310 linear feet; Chamber 3: 350 linear feet) structured as a base bid plus two alternative bids. The geopolymer lining system must be spray-applied, high-build, and monolithic, delivering a minimum 50-year service life for internal protection and full structural rehabilitation of existing deteriorated infrastructure with enhanced corrosion and abrasion protection. All work must comply with manufacturer standards and specifications. The City will provide CCTV inspection footage for all chambers to support bidders' assessment. Coordination with property owners through fliers and notices may be required prior to work commencement.
The anticipated Notice to Proceed is March 30, 2027, with project completion and all invoicing required by June 1, 2027. Performance and Payment Bonds are required from the awarded contractor. All labor, materials, and equipment necessary for completion are the contractor's responsibility.
The bid schedule itemizes five line items per chamber: mobilization and temporary facilities, site preparation, traffic control (including Locally Designated Project and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan requirements), structural-grade geopolymer lining installation, and landscaping restoration. Contractors must submit unit prices and total estimated pricing for each line item through Bonfire, with sole submission responsibility falling on the bidder to meet the scheduled closing deadline.
