About this opportunity
Broward County, Florida is issuing a Request for Information on Bromma equipment repair, maintenance, retrofits, and parts to determine whether the commodity and service are available from multiple providers or whether an alternate solution exists that would meet County needs, with responses due September 29, 2026. The RFI is a Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Source/Sole Brand and does not constitute a request for pricing or a purchase commitment.
The scope covers repair, maintenance, retrofits, and parts continuity for all Port Bromma container spreaders installed in shiptoshore cranes. Respondents must demonstrate extensive knowledge and industry-standard expertise in Bromma spreaders, manufacturer-supported parts availability, and service capabilities.
The County is evaluating whether Bromma equipment and related services should be designated as sole source or sole brand available exclusively through Kalmar USA Inc., Bromma Americas. Vendors may submit information demonstrating capability to provide the requested commodities and services or submit written documentation contesting the proposed sole source/sole brand designation. The Director of Purchasing retains sole authority to determine what is deemed comparable and will notify all submitting vendors of the final designation decision, which is not subject to objection, protest, or appeal.
Responses must be submitted through the County's electronic bidding system with supporting documentation addressing comparability, availability from multiple suppliers, and alignment with County operational needs. No contract value, contract term, or incumbent information is specified in the RFI.
