About this opportunity
The City of Atlanta Department of Transportation is soliciting bids on the PATH400 Peachtree Park and Adina Drive trail extension under a multi-step competitive sealed bid process with a pre-qualification phase followed by an Invitation for Bid, with proposals due July 23, 2026.
The scope encompasses approximately 0.47 miles of multi-use trail and cycling infrastructure extending from Station 10+75.00 to Station 18+50.00 along Adina Drive, with typical section widths ranging from 21 feet to 29 feet. Work includes concrete trails, side paths, on-street cycle tracks, drainage improvements, utility coordination, ADA-compliant features, signage, pavement markings, erosion control measures, demolition, and restoration activities. Specific deliverables include 754 square yards of concrete header curb, 561 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter, 755 linear feet of gravel aggregate base course, traffic signal installation, and landscape restoration with native plantings including willow oaks.
Pre-qualified vendors must demonstrate experience constructing multi-use trails, shared-use paths, bicycle facilities, streetscape and transportation infrastructure projects of similar size and complexity. Contractors must obtain GDOT Prequalified Prime Contractor and Subcontractor Certification across multiple work classifications including traffic control, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, concrete work, drainage structures, highway signs, traffic signal installation, thermoplastic striping, lighting standards, and landscape planting. The project requires Level II erosion and sedimentation control qualification and compliance with Georgia's GAR 100002 NPDES permit requirements. All work must comply with City of Atlanta specifications, GDOT standards, and approved construction plans.
Special provisions include traffic control restrictions limiting lane closures between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per hour for failure to re-open travel lanes. Contractors must coordinate with the City of Atlanta, PATH Foundation, and Livable Buckhead, Inc. at least five business days in advance and call Georgia 811 before ground-disturbing activities. The project drains into Peachtree Creek, designated as an impaired stream segment under the 305(b)/303(d) list. A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be noticed to provide additional details and address questions.
