About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Five is seeking proposals for the Central Florida Rail Corridor (CFRC) Lake Monroe Drawbridge Painting project. FDOT is requesting qualified contractors to provide painting services for the 113-foot long bascule lift span and 23-foot long tread girder spans of the Lake Monroe Drawbridge over the St. Johns River near Sanford, Florida. The contractor must be FDOT prequalified in Bridge Painting and will be responsible for removing the existing lead-based paint and applying approved paint. The work must be coordinated with CFRC operations to maintain rail and marine traffic. Proposals are due by March 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM, and contractors must attend a mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit. FDOT intends to award the contract to the responsive and responsible contractor with the lowest price proposal. The contractor will be paid via a lump sum contract with unit pricing, and the project may receive up to 80% federal funding assistance.
The solicitation has an aspirational goal of 24.3% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) utilization. All prospective bidders must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system, and out-of-state companies must be authorized to do business in Florida. The contractor will be required to provide a performance bond in the full amount of the proposal prior to contract execution. While the total budget estimate is not provided, the solicitation is subject to a 1% MyFlorida Marketplace (MFMP) Transaction Fee on all payments to the vendor(s).
