About this opportunity
Mattawan Consolidated School is soliciting sealed bids for Bid Package 3 of the MCS Middle School Additions & Renovations project, with bids due July 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. and a non-mandatory pre-bid walk scheduled for June 22, 2026. Michigan prevailing wage requirements apply to all trade classifications and apprenticeship levels on this State-funded project; prevailing wage rates by trade are posted separately and are mandatory regardless of union or non-union status.
The project scope encompasses construction of an addition to the middle school office and renovations to offices and cafeteria at 56720 Murray Street, Mattawan, Michigan. Work is organized into multiple trade-specific bid categories: selective demolition, concrete, masonry, structural steel, general trades, metal panels, membrane roofing, overhead doors, aluminum and glass glazing, painting, drywall, insulation, ceilings, flooring, kitchen equipment, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, technology, sitework, asphalt paving, fencing, and landscaping. Each work category must be bid in its entirety; partial submissions are not accepted. Combined proposals for multiple work categories are acceptable if each category is individually quoted. Construction commences August 31, 2026 and continues through March 31, 2028.
Bidders must submit a bid bond of not less than 5% of the bid amount and a Performance Labor and Material Bond as part of the base bid. All proposals must remain firm for 30 days after submittal. Three mandatory alternates are identified: Entry Plaza, Emergency Generator, and New Ceilings and Lighting in Place of Existing. Bids must include Michigan Sales & Use Tax plus all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Subcontractors without prior work history with AVB Construction must complete pre-qualification forms and provide current MiCHATS background checks for all field personnel prior to mobilization. All material and equipment deliveries must be coordinated with AVB and may be restricted to specific times. A minimum two-year warranty from certificate of occupancy is required unless otherwise specified. Bidders must comply with the Construction Manager's Health and Safety Program. Local participation is encouraged but not required for award consideration. Addendum 1 was released June 24, 2026; Addendum 2 is tentatively scheduled for July 2, 2026. Questions were due June 25, 2026. Bids will be publicly opened immediately following the 1:00 p.m. submission deadline.
