UNSPSC 72121404: Post office construction service

The building of post offices owned by others

UNSPSC 72121404 Post office construction service is a Commodity code that currently shows little relevant recent activity. The recent solicitations tagged under this code span irrigation system improvements, commercial kitchen renovation, beach access ramp reconstruction, detention facility cell renovations, water treatment plant construction, and metal building erection—none of which align with postal facility construction. State and local governments procuring construction services under legitimate facility codes regularly include renovation, new building, utility system, and infrastructure work; the mismatch between the code's nominal scope and what is actually being solicited suggests either systematic miscoding or that postal facility construction represents a narrow slice of procurement activity that has not generated recent state and local opportunities in the available dataset.

The few opportunities posted across Florida, Georgia, California, and Washington reflect broader municipal construction patterns—county buildings, educational facilities, detention centers, utility infrastructure, and public beaches—rather than postal infrastructure. Without documented recent postal construction solicitations or a pattern of state and local postal facility procurement, the code appears inactive as a targeting vehicle for business development purposes at this time.
