About this opportunity
City Colleges of Chicago is requesting proposals for up to six certified athletic trainers to support intercollegiate athletics programs across six colleges serving over 400 student-athletes, with proposals due July 15, 2026 and a pre-proposal conference scheduled for June 24 at 12:00 p.m. central time via Zoom. This procurement carries mandatory MBE and WBE participation goals of not less than 25 percent and 7 percent of total contract value, respectively, with failure to meet commitments constituting material breach and grounds for contract termination and two-year contractor ineligibility.
Athletic trainers must hold current National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification and maintain Illinois state licensure. Services will be required annually from August through May, including coverage for over 275 home games, daily practice sessions, and injury treatment and rehabilitation, with a maximum of 35 hours per week per trainer at an hourly rate not to exceed $50 per hour. Services may be required at Richard J. Daley College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Olive-Harvey College, Harry S. Truman College, and Wilbur Wright College, coordinated through a district-wide pool model rather than permanent campus assignments.
The estimated annual contract value is $315,000 with no guaranteed minimum hours. CCC intends to award one 36-month contract with two additional one-year renewal options. Proposers must demonstrate current business registration with the Illinois Secretary of State in good standing and maintain three years of audited or non-audited financial statements. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation ($1,000,000 employer's liability limits), commercial liability ($5,000,000 combined single limits), automobile liability ($1,000,000), cyber liability ($5,000,000), and professional liability ($5,000,000). Questions are due June 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. central time. Intent to submit declaration deadline is July 13, 2026 by 12:00 p.m. All proposals must include completed MBE/WBE compliance schedules with notarized certifications, economic disclosure statements, IRS W-9 forms, and ethics acknowledgments.
