About this opportunity
Augusta, Georgia's Central Services Department is requesting bids on janitorial services at four municipal facilities under ITB 27-290, with bids due September 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A local-bidder preference applies: the lowest local qualified bidder within 10 percent or $10,000 (whichever is less) of the lowest non-local bid may match and receive award.
The scope covers daily cleaning, restroom sanitation, break room maintenance, and weekly specialized services across four locations: Augusta Transit Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility (11,000 sq ft), Housing and Community Development (19,000 sq ft), Planning and Development (5,200 sq ft), and Records Retention Annex (3,500 sq ft). All work must be performed between 6:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with carpet extraction on Saturdays. The contractor must supply all materials, equipment, and cleaning products.
The contract period runs January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027, with four optional one-year renewal terms. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder per location, with a stated intent not to award more than two locations to a single bidder, though bidders may receive awards for multiple locations. Bidders must submit lump sum pricing on a monthly and annual basis for each location, plus renewal pricing for years three through five.
Minimum qualifications include five years' janitorial experience, three references from clients served within the past three years, E-Verify registration and compliance, and proof of required insurance: general liability ($300,000 minimum), automobile liability ($300,000 minimum), workers' compensation per state law, and a fidelity bond ($2,500 minimum). A $100 minimum charge per security violation incident applies.
Public bid opening is scheduled for Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
