About this opportunity
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) titled "Rapid Experimentation of Prototyping in Learning Environments: Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS)," designated as USSOCOM RFI TE 26-3. This Special Notice, posted on April 7, 2026, invites technology experimentation nominations from research and development organizations, private industry, academia, individual innovators, and Government laboratories. The RFI is not a procurement solicitation and will not result in contract awards; rather, it solicits nominations for technology demonstrations at a dedicated experimentation event. USSOCOM seeks innovative solutions to address counter-unmanned systems challenges relevant to special operations requirements. The response deadline is April 21, 2026, at 12:00 Noon Eastern Daylight Time.
The primary objective is to identify and evaluate technologies capable of enabling special operators to defeat swarms of up to 100 Group 1-2 autonomous drones from static positions in wooded terrain during day and night conditions in denied areas. Eligible respondents include any organization with relevant technology solutions, with preference given to materiel solutions at Technology Readiness Level 6 or above. Submissions must be made electronically via Scout Cards in the Vulcan system at vulcan-sof.com, with respondents required to complete a mandatory Electronic Supplemental Information form and allocate 35-40 minutes for submission. Key technology areas of interest include integrated detection and engagement capabilities, early warning systems, low-collateral effectors, modular low-SWaP systems, operator-worn portable detection systems, autonomous systems with enhanced survivability, multi-domain capabilities, and human-machine interfaces. Selected respondents will receive venue access, basic infrastructure support, frequency coordination, and shore power at the one-week event scheduled for June 2026 in Gulfport, Mississippi, though participants must cover their own submission costs, travel, equipment, and experimentation expenses.
