About this opportunity
U.S. Special Operations Command, in partnership with the Joint Services Small Arms Program, Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, U.S. Army Product Director for Crew Served Weapons, and other federal agencies, is conducting the International Special Operations Forces (ISOF) Range 2027 technology demonstration event on April 13–14, 2027, at Nevada Test and Training Range, Nevada, with a response deadline of January 29, 2027, for second-tranche consideration (first tranche closed October 30, 2026). This is an RFI and market research activity, not a solicitation for proposals or contracts.
USSOCOM invites private industry, government R&D organizations, academia, and individuals to submit unclassified technology demonstration applications across nine categories: Weapons, Visual Augmentation Systems, Demolitions/Breaching, Ammunition, Shoulder-Launched Munitions, Unmanned Lethal Strike Systems, Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Crew Served Weapons, and Other Relevant Disruptive Technologies. Most categories require TRL 7 or higher; "Other Relevant Disruptive Technologies" may be lower TRL. Submissions must be made through the Phoenix Defence website (https://isofrange.com/). Selection is based on how nominated technologies address lethality gaps and inform future requirements, as evaluated by USSOCOM subject matter experts. Invited exhibitors will demonstrate technologies to approximately 40+ international SOF units, U.S. military combat development offices, federal law enforcement, inter-agency units, and government RDT&E personnel. All respondent costs—submission, travel, and demonstration expenses—are at respondent cost. Laser technology, UAS/UGV systems, and export-controlled items require special compliance documentation and adherence to ITAR and EAR regulations.
