About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) intends to award a contract for the removal of existing boilers and the installation of new gas boilers at the Human Resources Services Center, Federal Acquisitions Office, U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Complex in Grand Prairie, TX. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals for the turnkey installation, which includes re-piping the boiler room, installing new boiler pumps, and ensuring all installations meet international plumbing and mechanical codes. The project is expected to be completed within 80 calendar days.

List of products and services to be provided by the contractor:

  1. Removal of existing boilers, pumps, controls, and associated hardware.
  2. Supply and installation of new Raypak MVB – Type H Heating Boiler Models 1505A or equivalent.
  3. Re-piping of the boiler room to Raypak piping diagram.
  4. Installation of new boiler pumps specified for the boilers.
  5. Installation of new full port ball valves on both inlet and outlet of each boiler.
  6. Installation of thermostatic mixing valves on both boilers.
  7. Re-piping of gas as needed for new boilers.
  8. Installation of full port ball valves and accessible sediment traps.
  9. Installation of new 8” vent piping for each boiler.
  10. Installation of new fiberglass insulation on all hydronic piping from existing primary loop to boilers.
  11. Installation of Carbon Monoxide control module with calibrated CO sensor.
  12. Full manufacturer's startup.
  13. Provision of factory warranty on all equipment: Ten years for Heat Exchanger and 1 year on all other parts and labor.

Contractor shall remove two existing boilers, pumps, controls and associated hardware. Supply and installation of (2) new Raypak MVB – Type H Heating Boiler Models 503A-2003A or equivalent. All ancillary equipment, water pumps, piping, valves, controls, electrical power services and equipment for the demolition, installation and operation shall be included as per the attached statement of work.

The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 238220 (Plumbing, Heating and Air-Conditioning Contractors) with a corresponding small business size standard of $19.0.
