About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) 8 South Contracting Team, is conducting market research to identify small businesses capable of providing comprehensive durable medical equipment (DME) services for VA West Palm Beach and Miami Medical Centers and their associated outpatient clinics. The procurement seeks a contractor to handle end-to-end DME management, including pickup, setup, disassembly, repair, preventive maintenance, site assessment, disposal, storage, and delivery services for VA beneficiaries. Evaluation criteria will focus on businesses' capability statements, technical experience with similar service requirements, past performance references, and small business classification. Interested firms must submit detailed documentation demonstrating their expertise in DME services, with a specific emphasis on multi-state service capabilities, particularly in Florida. The response deadline is January 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, with all submissions to be sent directly to Contracting Officer Jessica Kiser via email.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific small business designation, though respondents are encouraged to indicate their business type (e.g., HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8(a), Woman-Owned). The contract will have a base period of twelve months with four twelve-month option periods, potentially extending the total contract duration to five years. The procurement falls under NAICS code 621610 (Home Health Care Services) with a size standard of $19.0 million, allowing substantial small business participation. While specific award value is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of services and multi-site coverage suggests a significant potential contract value. The geographic scope primarily covers Florida but extends across multiple states, indicating a complex service delivery requirement that will demand robust logistical and medical equipment management capabilities from the selected contractor.
