About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is seeking a design-build contractor to repair and replace multiple Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) in Building 549 at Travis Air Force Base. The project requires comprehensive design services at 35%, 65%, and 100% completion stages, followed by installation of a new consolidated Notifier FACP system that must be non-proprietary and programmable by base personnel without manufacturer assistance. Technical evaluation will focus on past performance with similar NAICS code contracts, ability to conform to the Statement of Work, and proposed project schedule. The solicitation (FA442725R0012) originally set the proposal response deadline for April 3, 2025, but subsequent amendments extended this to May 6, 2025. Contractors must provide performance and payment bonds within 10 calendar days of award and complete the project within 180 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed.
This is a total small business set-aside contract under NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with an estimated project value between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The place of performance is 690 Airmen Dr, Travis AFB, CA 94535, with work to be conducted primarily during Monday-Friday hours between 8:00-16:00. The project scope includes demolishing four existing aged FACPs, installing new annunciators, integrating with existing fire suppression systems, and providing maintenance/programming training to base personnel. Contractors must verify field conditions, obtain approved drawings, comply with current UFC/IBC/NFPA codes, and address any potential hazardous materials abatement. The contract will be awarded to the lowest-price technically acceptable offer, with a focus on ensuring full compatibility between new and existing fire alarm system components.
