(12) Description - The following is a brief description of the work requirements for this contract:


Construction Project No. XQPZ 09-0103G, entitled 'Mitchell Hall Renovation Phase 7'. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR COMPETITIVE 8(a) SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov. The NAICS Code 236220, along with size standard $33.5 million applies. The procurement is entitled 'Mitchell Hall Renovation Phase 7' at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), in Colorado. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to perform work for this project at the USAFA Mitchell Hall in Colorado. The project will consist of upgrades to include food production, an increase of approximately 1600 square feet of warehouse space, address structural deficiencies, complete and integrate the fire protection systems from all phases, provide better insulation for the envelope of the building, renovate the coolers on the south dock, renovate the north dock concrete, reconfigure the storage space on the dining level, provide fall protection for the roof and will include asbestos abatement.

Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information is available free of charge on the www.fbo.gov website. Contract completion time is 361 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing. No telephone calls will be returned. The solicitation will be issued on/about July 30, 2012. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for August 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM MST, attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Proposals will be due at 4:00 PM MST (local time) on August 30, 2012. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the successful contractor to secure bonding. Pursuant to Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AAFARS) paragraph 5301.9102(a) Ms. Kelly Snyder has been appointed as the USAF Academy Ombudsmen.
