MEMORANDUM TO OFFERORS 5 September 2012
SUBJECT: Solicitation FA7000-12-R-0015, Additional information in regards to getting to the Milazzo Center
1. Due to current base access restrictions, offerors must possess a current Contractor Access Badge (CAB) to gain access to the Milazzo Center,5226 Cedar Drive, USAF Academy, CO, 80840, to deliver proposals in person.
2. If an offeror does not possess a current USAFA CAB, the offeror must obtain a temporary pass from the USAF Academy South Gate Pass and Registration Center (PRC), Building 8486. Temporary passes for access will be made available to offerors delivering proposals in personto the Milazzo Center, Building 5226, in response to the subject solicitation. Contact the PRC at 333-3327 for hours of operations. In accordance with USAFA Installation Access Procedures, individuals will be vetted to determine fitness eligibility to gain access to the installation. Vetting is defined as the process of checking an individual’s background for information that may indicate they could present a threat to personnel and facilities on USAFA if granted access. The vetting process can takeanywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete.
3. Additionally, road construction is ongoing along Community Center Drive that affects the entrance to the Milazzo Center. This could potentially cause an additional 15 to 30 minutes of delay.
4. Offerors are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for the vetting process as well as road construction traffic in order to ensure timely proposal submission.
