About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management seeks quotes for replacement of a failed ductless mini split air conditioning system at its Lewistown Fire facility in Lewistown, Montana, with quotes due July 21 at 1:00 PM local time. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors).
Place of performance is 303 East Aztec Drive, Lewistown, MT 59457. The contractor must remove the existing inoperable LG LSU180CE (18,000 BTU) unit and install a new ductless split-system air conditioning unit with minimum 18,000 BTU/hr cooling capacity, including electrical connections to existing 208/230V single-phase 60 Hz service, new refrigerant line set with insulation, new condensate drain, new controls, and weather-tight sealing of wall penetrations. The new system must include automatic restart after power outage, programmable controls or remote thermostat, multiple fan speeds, year-round cooling capability, and self-diagnostics. All work must comply with manufacturer requirements, the National Electrical Code, International Mechanical Code, EPA regulations, and applicable Montana State and local codes. The project is estimated at less than $25,000 on a firm fixed-price lump sum basis. Work must commence within 10 calendar days of the construction notice to proceed and be completed within 90 days thereafter, with overall performance ending December 1, 2026. Contractor must provide pre-installation submittals including manufacturer data, warranty information, and Montana contractor registration and electrical license information if applicable. Mandatory requirements include a safety and quality control plan within 10 days of award, liability insurance (Workers' Compensation $100,000, General Liability $500,000, Automobile Liability $200,000/$500,000/$20,000), compliance with prevailing wage determination MT20260031 for Fergus County, and subcontracting capped at 85 percent.
