About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Systems Command seeks innovative commercial solutions for the Kronos Family of Systems through a Commercial Solutions Opening, with Phase 1A white paper and quad chart submissions due August 28, 2026. The procurement operates under Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) authority (10 U.S.C. 4022 and 4023) and will remain open until May 11, 2026, with rolling submissions across multiple calls.
Place of performance is El Segundo, California. The First Call addresses Area of Interest 01—Operational Command and Control—focusing on modeling, simulation, training, and exercise data generation informed by real-world data, operational environments, and adversary threats to support space-based risk management and enterprise-wide risk alerting for global and regional command and control operations and the joint community. The Government seeks cloud-native, AI/ML-enabled, cybersecurity-focused solutions with demonstrated operational benefits; hosting may occur in Government cloud, contractor cloud, or hybrid environments. All Phase 1 submissions must remain unclassified. The NAICS code is 513210, Software Publishers; PSC category is AR12, Space R&D Services.
Phase 1A evaluation assesses Government interest and mission alignment, technical validity and feasibility, OTA eligibility, and innovation compliance—all weighted equally. Selected Phase 1 offerors may be invited to Phase 1B pitch sessions during the last two weeks of January 2026; Phase 1B participation does not constitute a down select or guarantee advancement to Phase 2. Phase 2 invites qualified offerors to submit detailed technical approach, Statement of Work, and pricing proposals evaluated on unrated criteria (Government interest, security posture, vendor viability, organizational conflict of interest mitigation) and rated criteria (technical merit, integration feasibility, and price). The Government reserves the right to fund all, some, or none of proposals and may retain submissions for consideration under subsequent calls. Prototype performance periods are approximately six months, with potential follow-on production awards without further competition.

Update #4 ·
January 14th 2026
This message is to provide an update on Phase 1 selection process for the 1st call of the Kronos CSO. At this moment, the Government has reviewed all submissions across the three Areas of Interests (AOIs). In accordance with (IAW) line 222 of the Kronos CSO CAO 02Dec25, the Government will invite some offerors to Phase 1B to expand upon the proposed concept/technology/solution virtually. Not sooner than 14th January 2026, the Government will send out invitations to Phase 1B IAW lines 220 – 242 of the Kronos CSO CAO 02Dec25 (Phase 1B – Pitch Session and Format). It is estimated that Phase 1B will be held during the last two weeks of January 2026. IAW line# 239, an invitation to Phase 1B is not a down select, but an opportunity for the Government to get clarification from the offeror. The Government reminds offerors that if the offeror does not get an invitation to Phase 1B, that means that the Government did not need clarification to make a final decision for Phase 1. An invitation to Phase 1B does not, in any way, guarantee selection to Phase 2. It is the Government’s intention to post another update on the selection process by the end of the first week of February 2026.
Thank you for your interest in the Kronos CSO and mission and your continued partnership with the United States Space Force.

Thank you for your interest in the Kronos CSO and mission and your continued partnership with the United States Space Force.
Thank you for your interest in and submissions to the First Call for the Kronos Family of Systems (FoS) Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) FA8806-26-S-0001. The Kronos Program Office and Space Systems Command greatly appreciate the time, effort, and innovation reflected across the submissions received.
The Government received a high amount of responses for all three (3) AOIs in this first call of the Kronos FoS CSO. As a result of the very high interest, the evaluation process may take longer than originally anticipated.
The Government remains committed to conducting a deliberate evaluation consistent with CSO authorities and will notify offerors directly should additional information, clarification, or next steps be required. We appreciate your patience and understanding as the evaluation team works through this process.
At this time, no additional action is required from offerors unless contacted by the Government.
As stated in the sam.gov post, the Kronos FoS CSO will remain opened until May 11th, 2026. The Government reserves the right to open a second call at a later time in CY2026.
The Government also reserves the right to host a Kronos FoS industry day at a later date.
