About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation announced an Industry Day on August 3–4, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia, to expand its qualified vendor list for manufacturing and delivering structural honeycomb panels for the C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft. Attendance requires pre-registration by email to timothy.randall.4@us.af.mil; 12 one-on-one breakout slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is market research only and not a solicitation.
The 409th Supply Chain Management Squadron at Robins Air Force Base manages an active contract strategy covering over 500 National Stock Numbers for C-5 honeycomb panels. Procurements are low-volume, high-value (typically 1–10 units per order); initial tooling and set-up costs are covered through a Material Related Set-up CLIN, and no First Article Inspection is required. Historical awards since 2020 total $1,713,102 across 26 NSNs among three small businesses, with individual delivery orders ranging from $6,725 to $497,000.
Qualifying contractors must obtain Source Qualification Statement approval from the C-5 Engineering Division (AFLCMC/WLSEBA) and demonstrate capability in complex, adhesive-bonded structural honeycomb panel manufacturing, including strict contamination and environmental controls, expertise in adhesive life tracking and autoclave operations, aircraft loft data interpretation, and 3D model generation. Required qualifications include ISO 9002 or AS9100 certification, registration in SAM and the Enhanced Joint Certification Program (EJCP), and CMMC Level II certification. The government will review Source Qualification Requests within 120 calendar days and may conduct facility site visits and require sample panel submissions. NAICS code 336413; FSC 1560.
