About this opportunity
The Air Force Academy seeks a hybrid upright/inverted fluorescence microscope system with proposals due August 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM MDT and questions due August 17, 2026. This is full and open competition with no set-aside.
Place of performance is Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The procurement encompasses three contract line items: the microscope system itself, shipping and delivery, and on-site installation with training. The microscope must be research-grade with motorized high-precision Z-focus, motorized objective nosepiece with minimum 6-position turret, and external touch-screen control. Required illumination includes motorized transmitted light with LED source, fully motorized Differential Interference Contrast capability, and high-intensity incident fluorescence with broad-spectrum LED. The system must feature infinity-corrected optics with 22mm or greater field-of-view eyepieces, high-performance objective lenses at 10x, 20x, 40x, and 60x/63x magnifications, motorized fluorescence filter turret (minimum 6 positions) compatible with DAPI, GFP/FITC, and Texas Red stains, motorized X-Y scanning stage, and dedicated anti-vibration table. Digital imaging requires a motorized camera side port with 1x C-mount adapter, high-resolution scientific monochrome camera (sCMOS), and image analysis software with advanced computational clearing algorithm for real-time or post-processing enhancement. The vendor must provide in-person on-site installation by qualified field service engineer, in-person training and post-installation support, and standard manufacturer warranty. All quotes must remain valid through September 30, 2026. Award will be made on a Best Value basis considering price and technical capabilities. NAICS 333310, PSC 6650. Offerors must submit price quotes on company letterhead with UEI and CAGE code, technical specification sheets demonstrating compliance, and a completed Buy American Certificate. No funds are presently available; award will not be made until funds become available.
