About this opportunity
Air Force Academy intends to solicit a hybrid upright/inverted fluorescence microscope system, with response deadline of June 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM MDT for this sources-sought notice.
This is market-research activity to identify qualified vendors and assess procurement method; it is not a formal solicitation. No set-aside applies. Place of performance is at Air Force Academy.
The required system is a modular, research-grade inverted microscope with motorized high-precision Z-focus, motorized automated objective nosepiece with minimum 6-position capacity, and external touch-screen or smart control interfaces. Transmitted light must use LED source with fully motorized Differential Interference Contrast capabilities. Incident light fluorescence requires high-intensity broad-spectrum LED. Objective magnifications must include 10x, 20x, 40x, and 60x (or 63x) with infinity-corrected optical paths and large field-of-view eyepieces. The fluorescence system requires a motorized filter turret (minimum 6 positions) with filter cubes compatible with DAPI, GFP/FITC, and Texas Red stains. Additional requirements include motorized high-precision X-Y scanning stage, dedicated anti-vibration table, motorized camera side port with 1x C-mount adapter, high-resolution scientific monochrome camera (sCMOS), and image analysis software with advanced computational clearing algorithm for real-time or post-processing blur removal. A dedicated high-performance processing workstation is required. Support includes on-site installation by qualified field service engineer, in-person training, post-installation support, and standard manufacturer warranty.
Responses must include company information, CAGE Code, Unique Entity ID, business size classification under NAICS 333310, GSA Schedule or GWAC availability if applicable, and capability statements with product literature. Submit to ronald.wilson.26@us.af.mil and dawson.hopkinson@us.af.mil. PSC code is 6650.
