About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 12 is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive fire alarm testing, inspection, and preventative maintenance services for the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and the Joliet Outpatient Clinic in Illinois. The contract will cover all existing equipment and devices in both the fire alarm system and the tornado/disaster/computer failure/all-clear alarm system at these two facilities. This solicitation (36C25225Q0210) requires specialized technical expertise to ensure continuous and reliable operation of critical alert and safety systems. The pre-solicitation notice indicates that responses are due by February 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM Central Time, with potential contractors required to submit their proposals through the designated procurement channels. The primary point of contact for this opportunity is Michelle Klug from the Great Lakes Acquisition Center, who can be reached via email at michelle.klug2@va.gov.

The contract is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), operating under NAICS category 561621 for Security Systems Services and PSC code H312 for Fire Control Equipment Inspection. The procurement will include a base period with four additional option years, providing potential stability for the selected contractor. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive nature of the maintenance services suggests a significant contract opportunity for qualified SDVOSB firms. The geographic scope covers two VA facilities in Illinois, with the primary location being the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines and a secondary site at the Joliet Outpatient Clinic. Interested contractors will need to demonstrate technical capabilities in maintaining complex alarm and notification systems, with a focus on ensuring the safety and operational readiness of these critical VA healthcare facilities.
