About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command is seeking construction services to perform rubber removal and repainting for the airstrip at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. The project involves removing rubber buildup from runways using high-pressure water blast systems and applying waterborne paint with reflective media for airfield markings. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement, technical approach document, and pricing breakout form demonstrating their ability to complete the work. The evaluation will be based on lowest price technically acceptable, with technical proposals assessed as acceptable or unacceptable based on the contractor's identification of major milestones and corrective actions. Proposals are due by December 19, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. CST, and must be submitted to 2nd Lt. Nathaniel Joines via email.
This is a total small business set-aside contract with an estimated value between $100,000 and $250,000. The performance period is 210 calendar days after notice to proceed, with work restricted to weekends between 1800 Friday and 0600 Monday. The project requires contractors to have completed at least two similar projects in the past three years, including removal and painting of 200,000 square feet of pavement markings on an active airfield within a five-day period. The work will be performed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, and involves rubber removal and repainting of Runways 16/34 and 164/344, including reflective and non-reflective markings totaling approximately 93,221 square feet. Contractors must comply with strict environmental regulations, safety procedures, and coordination requirements for working on an active airfield.
