About this opportunity

NASA's Ames Research Center has issued a Special Notice for the Ames Facilities Support Services II (AFSS II) procurement, a significant contract opportunity set aside exclusively for 8(a) certified small businesses. The contract will be managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at their Ames Research Center located in Moffett Field, California. This procurement is designed to provide comprehensive facilities support services for the research center, with a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) planned for early 2025. The contract will be a hybrid type, incorporating Firm Fixed Price and Cost-Plus Award Fee components, with an anticipated contract effective date of October 13, 2025. The opportunity represents NASA's commitment to supporting small and disadvantaged businesses in federal contracting.

The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to inform 8(a) certified businesses about an upcoming facilities support services contract and provide detailed guidance for potential contractors. Interested parties must closely follow several key deadlines, including a virtual draft RFP walk-through on April 10, 2025, and an in-person Industry Day on March 26, 2025. Contractor eligibility is strictly limited to 8(a) certified small businesses, with prime contractors required to have federal contract references totaling at least $30 million. The procurement will involve a comprehensive proposal submission process, requiring four volumes covering general information, mission suitability, past performance, and cost/price factors. Potential offerors are encouraged to participate in upcoming events like the Industry Day and one-on-one meetings, submit written questions to the Contracting Officer by April 24, 2025, and prepare detailed proposals that demonstrate their capability to provide high-quality facilities support services for NASA's Ames Research Center.
