About this opportunity

The United States Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of refurbishing seven B20128 makeup air handlers (fans 6-12) at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. This one-time contract requires comprehensive removal and replacement of existing fans, filter racks, and hot water coils while maintaining the metal housing, and implementing a new Fan Array System with 55,000 CFM capacity at 4.75 Total Static Pressure using 480/3/60 electrical configuration. Contractors must demonstrate expertise in industrial air handler refurbishment, possess production and repair data capabilities, and be able to interface with existing Johnson Controls building automation systems. The evaluation will focus on contractors' technical capabilities, repair processes, manufacturing experience, and ability to provide advanced monitoring, alarming, trending, and scheduling capabilities for the air handling systems. The market research survey responses are due by close of business on August 14, 2025, with submissions required via email to MSgt Anthony Jacobs and Lisa Matney.

No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation. While specific contract values are not disclosed in this market research phase, the scope indicates a substantial project requiring comprehensive system upgrades, on-site training, a five-year parts warranty, one-year maintenance agreement, and Georgia HVAC licensing compliance. The contractor must complete all work within six months of contract award, operating Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:15 pm EST, and each air handler unit must be rated for 40,000 hours of operation. The project falls under NAICS code 811310 for Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance, indicating the specialized nature of this industrial HVAC refurbishment requirement.
