About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 8 is soliciting quotations for acute care beds and installation services for Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, with proposals due April 30, 2026 at 4:30 PM EST. This is an unrestricted, full and open competition procurement for commercial items under FAR Part 12.
Place of performance is Bay Pines, Florida (10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Building 110 Warehouse). The requirement comprises 126 standard acute care beds and 4 bariatric beds, each with advanced therapeutic support surfaces meeting a minimum safe working load of 240 kg (standard) and 500 kg (bariatric), full electric articulation, low-height positioning, integrated patient safety monitoring, and compliance with IEC 60601-2-52. All equipment must be FDA-approved, new condition, and fully operational. The contractor shall provide comprehensive onsite training for operating clinicians during normal business hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday), with training schedule flexibility to ensure full competency. Installation includes delivery coordination, removal of existing equipment, infection control compliance, and 12-month service and maintenance plans covering preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical support. Delivery window is June 1 through September 30, 2026.
NAICS code is 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing); PSC code is 6530 (Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils, and Supplies). Evaluation considers technical capability (30%), past performance (20%), veterans involvement with preference for SDVOSB and VOSB concerns, and price. Payment is Net 30 upon completion and government acceptance. Four amendments have been issued; Amendment 0003 (April 24) removed brand-specific requirements and converted all line items to performance-based criteria; Amendment 0004 (April 28) provided post-deadline clarifications on training timeframe and therapeutic surface specifications. Contracting officer is Lakiesha Anderson, lakiesha.anderson@va.gov, 561-618-2398.
