About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 16 has issued a Special Notice of Intent (NOI) to sole source a Firm-Fixed Price contract to Guldmann Inc. for patient ceiling lifts at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The contract will procure four GH3+ 605SWL wifi-capable patient lifts with associated equipment including scales, service modules, hanger bars, rails, and trolleys, along with installation services. This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which allows for a sole source award when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The notice was posted on March 4, 2025, with a response deadline of March 11, 2025. The VA has determined that Guldmann Inc. is the only vendor capable of providing the specific equipment needed for their medical facility.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit detailed information demonstrating their business credentials and potential to meet the VA's requirements. Key submission requirements include providing comprehensive business size and socio-economic status information, such as business classification, certification status, DUNS number, and registration in SAM and VetBiz registries. Non-original equipment manufacturers (non-OEM) must also provide an authorization letter from Guldmann Inc. confirming their ability to supply the specified equipment. The VA is seeking evidence that alternative competition could provide advantages to the government, though this is not a competitive solicitation. Potential contractors must respond by 10:00 am CST on March 11, 2025, by emailing james.craig1@va.gov with their comprehensive documentation. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing) and PSC code 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies).
