About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is seeking to procure eight boat engines for the 628th Security Forces Squadron Harbor Patrol Unit at Joint Base Charleston. The specific requirement includes one Honda 150hp left-hand outboard, one Honda 150hp right-hand outboard, three Yamaha 300hp right-hand outboard, and three Yamaha 300hp left-hand outboard engines. These engines are needed to maintain vessel readiness and allow for scheduled maintenance, with compatibility being a critical factor for existing boats and maintenance procedures. The solicitation will use a best-value trade-off evaluation approach, considering price and delivery lead time for two separate product groups. Key dates include a question submission deadline of March 11, 2025, and a final quote submission deadline of June 9, 2025 at 4:00 PM EST.
The contract is set aside exclusively for small businesses under NAICS code 333618 with a size standard of 1,500 employees. The estimated contract value is approximately $170,859.00, with delivery required to Building 907 at 2316 Redbank Road in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and can quote either the complete Honda or Yamaha product group. The engines are intended for 27' Sea Arks boats (Honda BF150s) and 27' Safe Boats (Yamaha F300s), which were originally provided by the Department of Energy. Market research identified multiple small businesses capable of meeting the requirement, including 3 small businesses through GSA, numerous veteran-owned, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises. The government intends to award without discussions but reserves the right to conduct them, with delivery expected within 120 days of award.
