About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to sole source the expansion of TempTrak monitoring equipment at two healthcare facilities: Bay Pines VAMC and Lee County HCC. The notice, posted on February 10, 2025, with responses due by February 13, 2025, seeks a contractor to install specialized temperature monitoring systems across various refrigeration and storage units. The project falls under the NAICS category for Air-Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment and Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing, with a specific Product Service Code (PSC) of 4110 for Refrigeration Equipment. The procurement aims to enhance temperature monitoring capabilities in pharmacy and medical storage areas, ensuring precise environmental control and compliance with healthcare equipment standards.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to expand the existing TempTrak temperature monitoring infrastructure, with detailed installation requirements for both locations. At Bay Pines VAMC, the contractor must install 70 temperature sensors, 20 TempTrak receivers, 3 room pressure sensors, and 3 room temperature/humidity sensors, while the Lee County HCC requires 24 temperature sensors, 3 TempTrak receivers, and additional voltage sensors. All installed equipment must be compatible with the existing TempTrak server and interface, and the contractor is responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, hardware, and accessories. Contractors must strictly adhere to safety guidelines including OSHA, NFPA70, 70E, ASSE, and Department of Veterans Affairs safety requirements. The sole-source procurement indicates a specific vendor or technology has been predetermined, potentially due to existing infrastructure or unique technological compatibility. Eligible contractors must demonstrate the capability to seamlessly integrate the new monitoring equipment with the current TempTrak system and comply with all specified regulatory and safety standards.
