(End of clause)
D. REVISED SPECIFICATIONS AND PROJECT PLANS ‐ ENCLOSED HEREWITH are revised Sections of the Specifications and the Project Plans. Therefore, bidders shall remove the affected pages/Sections and replace them with the respective pages/Sections attached hereto.
E. USACE RESPONSES TO CONTRACTOR’S QUESTIONS
Provided below are the USACE’s responses to questions submitted by Contractor’s since the issuance of the Solicitation.
QUESTION 1. A quick question about bonding. Since the design/construction is planned the first year with 4 years maintenance, is it possible to have 1.) a first year bonding amount and 2.) a separate bonding for the 4 years remaining at a lesser bonding amount?
USACE RESPONSE 1. Annual Performance Bonds “will not” be accepted nor can they be accepted for this particular contract type. Therefore, contractors will be required to fully bond for the entire contract award amount per FAR 52.228‐15 (See Section 00700 of the Solicitation).
QUESTION 2. When are the stone and timber revetments being constructed?
USACE RESPONSE 2. The stone and timber revetments will not be constructed until 2018.
QUESTION 3. Who will be constructing them? Will the work be bid by the Corps in a forthcoming Solicitation?
USACE RESPONSE 3. A future acquisition method hasn’t been determined. The District is still in the process of evaluating the best procurement method to procure such construction services (revetments).
