Questions and Answers

1. Where can I find the submittal requirements for this project?

Answer: The document is located in beta.sam with the other documents.

2. What bid forms do you need on bid day from the bid documents?

Answer: The solicitation located in beta.sam tells how to submit your bid. It is up to each individual bidder as to how much or how little paperwork they want to submit.

3. Are water softeners part of the Phase 4 project?

Answer: Yes, water softeners are to be provided in phase 4.

4. Are there 2 Mechanical Rooms part of the Phase 4 project?

Answer: Yes work in Mechanical 1D and Mechanical 2D Also see Mechanical scope in Lobby 2-NA for phase 4.

5. Are there 2 Stair wells part of the Phase 4 project?

Answer: Only one stair is included in Phase 4. Refer to Sheet G102 for extent of Phase 4.

6. In doing this project I came across some missing sections that are on the Table of Contents but not on the project. The First Section Missing is in: Division 02 - 02 41 19: Selective Demolition. The Second Section with Missing Sections is in: Division 23 - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning: Here are the missing ones from this Section: 23 09 23 - Direct Digital Controls DDC System for HVAC; 23 11 23 - Facility Natural Gas Piping; 23 23 00 - Refrigerant Piping; 23 41 00 - Particulate Air Filtration; 23 73 14 - Packaged Outdoor 100% Dedicated Outside Air Units; 23 81 13. 11 - Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners Through-Wall Units; 23 82 16.14 - Electric Resistance Air Coils; 23 82 39.13 - Cabinet Unit Heaters.

Answer: Those referenced Specification sections were deliberately removed as they only applied to a previous construction phase.

7. The SOW “004_SOW_B006_PH-IV_26Feb20” calls out remediation as contractor responsibility. Is there any document that calls out what needs remediation and what materials are involved?

Answer: Remediation references any interior or exterior damage caused by construction, including, but not limited to interior finishes/floors/doors, and exterior grass, paving or parking lots (due to demolition or dumpster placement)

8. There are discrepancies between the SOW “004_SOW_B006_PH-IV_26Feb20” and the drawings “Bldg+6+Phase+4_drawings”. Specifically relating to what notes need to be followed. Please verify that drawings will have priority.

Answer: Drawings have priority.

9. Please verify work done in Mechanical rooms 1D, 2D, including new Water Heaters, Storage tanks, and Softeners will be included in phase 4.

Answer: Correct.

10. Are trash chutes allowed out of windows?

Answer: Yes, however contractor is responsible for any damage to windows, frames, sills, and facility exterior.

11. Northwest stairs are only on Phase 4 finish schedule, but Phase 5 in phasing layout. Will these stairs be finished in Phase 4 or 5?

Answer: Northwest stair is to be part of Phase 5. Refer to Sheet G102 for extent of Phase 4. Refer to revised Phase 4 – Room Finish Schedule on Sheet A602 (attached).

12. The Exterior High Performance coating is called out under Phase 2 only. Does this include the new Phase 4 connector, or does the HPC for the connector need to be included in Phase 4?

Answer: High performance coating is for Phase 2 only.
