1. Introduction Detailed and accurate topographic survey is one of the major factors in the success of any engineering project, at both design and construction stage. Comprehensive and detailed topo survey at early stage of design always eases up the design work and minimizes any unexpected major changes later at construction stage.
Ayed Eid Al Osaimi Engineering Consulting Office has been awarded the topographic survey ROYAL SAUDI
LAND FORCE AVIATION COMMAND (RSLFAC), SAUDI ARABIA.
This survey is based in the survey area details provided by the client. The topographic survey shown here is located inside the boundary of Land Forces Aviation Institute, Qassim, Kingdome of Saudi Arabia.
The survey team examined the site, become familiar with all existing conditions, and evaluated the conditions with respect to performance of the work.
2. Scope of Work
The scope of work involves conducting a detailed Topographic survey of the proposed sites shown hereon.
1- Topographic Survey
The Topographic survey shows all the surface features, existing grade elevations, extent of existing paving (asphalt / concrete), existing structures, process equipment, existing road width, catch basin, manholes, street lighting, cable marker, pipe line markers underground utility markers, surface ditches, wales, fences gates, building concrete, walkways, fire hydrants, valve boxes, junction boxes, shelter, fence, poles (electrical, cameras, traffic signals, traffic light, etc.) And all above grade man made and artificial features
Field Work: - The sites area of 1 Ha is according to approved BOQ by the client. A 10m *10m grid was used to calculate the contours lines on all sites using GPS in RTK and Stop / Go Mode.
Survey Design: - The results are 2 types of information, spots elevation and contour lines, section results. The drawing is presents in a CAD format processed thru civil 3D 2015.

4. Survey Equipment
All instruments, equipment, and personnel to accomplish the field survey. Survey instruments have accuracy and the technology appropriate for the intended application.
Surveying instruments are calibrated to specifications in manufacturer’s recommendation.
OEO is using the latest state of the art Surveying Equipment starting from automatic level, Total station and GPS systems as mentioned in Table 1.

PERFORMANCES
Advanced Trimble R-Track™ Technology Unmatched tracking of GNSS satellite signals Superior performance in challenging RTK applications Flexible system design Remote configuration and access Advance surveying with Trimble R-Track Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
GNSS have a separate geodetic antenna to reduce multipath interference. GNSS is the standard term for satellite navigation systems that provide geospatial positioning with global coverage.
GNSS allows receivers to determine their location accurately using signals transmitted along a line-of-sight path from the satellites to terrestrial receivers. Receivers can also calculate the precise time as well as position, which can be used as a reference for scientific experiments.
GNSS systems include the United States' GPS, Russian Federation's GLONASS, the European Union's Galileo, and China's Compass system.
POSITIONING
The latest advancements in Trimble R-Track technology consistently deliver precise positioning performance in the most challenging GNSS conditions. More satellites and better reception keep you working throughout the day. Our latest advancement, Trimble R-Track with Signal Prediction™ is a giant step for the surveying industry. Signal Prediction compensates for intermittent RTK signals, enabling extended operation after an interruption.
PROTOCOL
The new CMRx protocol provides maximum compression of corrections to optimize communications bandwidth and fully utilize all of the
P a g e | 5 S u r v e y D e p a r t m e n t satellites and signals in view.
SATELLITE AND SIGNALS
The Trimble R10 GNSS supports a wide range of satellite signals, including GPS L2C and L5 and GLONASS L1/L2 signals. In addition, Trimble is committed to the next generation of modernized GNSS configurations by providing Galileo-compatible products available for customers well in advance of Galileo system availability in support of this plan, the new Trimble R10 GNSS is capable of tracking the experimental GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B test satellites for signal evaluation and test purposes.
QUALITY AND CORRECTION
The Trimble R10 GNSS includes a built-in TX/RX UHF radio, enabling the ultimate flexibility for rover or base operation.
As a base station, the internal NTRIP caster provides you with customized access to base station corrections
TOPCON MG 52
The Electronic Total Station is also one of the most advanced EDM Total Station with optical plummet correction for base centralizing TOPCON MG 52
DISTANCE MEASUREMENT:
Measurement of distance is accomplished with a modulated infrared carrier signal, generated by a small solid-state emitter within the instrument's optical path, and reflected by a prism reflector. The modulation pattern in the returning signal is read and interpreted by the computer in the total station Total station can measure distances with an accuracy of about 1.5 millimeters (0.0049 ft) + 2 parts per million over a distance of up to 1,500 meters (4,900 ft).
ANGLE MEASUREMNET:
The total station instrument measure angles by means of electro-optical scanning of extremely precise digital bar-codes etched on rotating glass cylinders.
Total stations can generally measure angles to 5 or 10 arc-seconds.
Automatic Level AC-25 NIKON The Level is one the most advanced Automatic Double Bubble sensor – NIKON AC-2s It makes use of a compensator, which ensures that the line of sight is always horizontal regardless of whether or not the housing of the telescope. It also reduces the effect of minor settling of the tripod to the actual amount of motion instead of leveraging the tilt over the sight distance Three level screws are given to adjust the instrument level.
