AMENDMENT 0006
Radial Forge Infrastructure, Watervliet, NY Solicitation #: W912DS24R0009
AMENDMENT 006 of 006
TO BIDDERS:
The following changes shall be made to the drawings and specifications.
DRAWINGS:
S-115 – First Floor Structural Plan – Area D, as noted
SPECIFICATIONS: N/A
BIDDERS’ QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT REPLY:
Note: RFIs are in numerical order, see previous Amendments for any that are out of sequence.
RFIs:
37. There does not appear to be a cable tray spec provided for the tray in the electrical vault below the Switchgear E-House. Can the Cable Tray Spec be provided? Material required? Rung Spacing?
Response 37: Provide NEMA VE 1, NEMA 20B, aluminum alloy 6063-T6, ladder type tray with a 6” side rail height (5" loading depth), 9" rung spacing, , and 12” bend radius fittings. Install the tray in accordance with NEMA VE 2 or the manufacturer’s requirements. Ground the tray in accordance with NFPA 70 (note: the ground cables in the tray may be used for bonding the tray to ground).
50. During Phase 1 there is overhead work to be performed in the active forge manufacturing bay. Please confirm if Crane stops will be allowed to be installed in E Bay “forge manufacturing area” for installation of the overhead conduits and other work scheduled to be completed in phase 1. Additionally, what are the work hours for overhead work (above crane line) in bays E1 through E 26 (Areas A, B, C &D) for each phase of construction?
Response 50: Crane stops to be decided on a case-by-case basis during construction in coordination with COR and Arsenal. See response to RFI 27 for contracting working hours.
51. Please confirm the existing flooring conditions and actual structural load ratings for the First-floor Areas B, C, and D. There will need to be work done from lifts and equipment placement is a concern as there are many vaults, basements, and trenches. We will need to know where the existing floor conditions will allow the use of large equipment.
Response 51: This is means and methods and the contractor will need to determine the capacity to support construction equipment. As far the floor rating for large equipment – typically NO forklifts or large equipment on any steel plating that is suspended from beam to beam.
57. Specification 01 50 00 3.9.1 states Necessary power, telephone, and internet services to support building and office equipment must be furnished by the Contractor. Government office trailer to be provided with a dedicated internet service provider line for Government-only use. Coordinate with the Government (ACE-IT) for required internet speed. Please confirm if the contractor should include the cost of bringing a new utility service to the area.
Additionally, please confirm where the nearest POE is to this trailer on post. If a new utility must be brought in, who is the approved on-base internet utility provider?
Response 57: The contractor must provide their own internet access, satellite or otherwise.
Source from existing 100A fused 480V disconnect on the northeastern interior wall of Building 136. This should be adequate for the 250A 120v/208v service that two job trailers require. The recommendation is to run 480V service from B136 to a contractor-provided transformer near the trailers, and then add a distribution panel feeding the two sub panels in the trailers.
59. Specification 01 50 00 requires power to be brought to USACE and contractor trailer. Please identify the power source, voltage, and amps available for these 2 temporary trailers and the location we should intend to feed these from. Additionally, please confirm conduit and burial requirements for temporary facilities.
Response 59: Refer to RFI 57 Response.
61. Please provide the locations where power, data and telephone can be tied in to for the office trailer that is being supplied as part of this contract.
Response 61: Refer to RFI 57 Response.
64. Question #3: Switchgear manufacturers are requesting a minimum of 8-weeks bid extension to secure accurate E-HOUSE vendor pricing. Will a bid extension be considered?
Response 64: Refer to solicitation and amendments for submission date.
68. Drawing E-301 depicts a Pre-Cast Electrical Vault under the new E-House. There are no details provided on the drawings for this vault. Is there a basis of design for this structure? How is the vault accessed? We have not seen any details for the E-House that depict the expected access.
Response 68: Precast vault is specified (Section 03 42 13.00 10). See also response to bidder question 92.
69. One-line E-602 depicts Cooling Coil Fans #1&2, with feeder tags P446 & 447. The equipment nor the feeders seem to be depicted on the drawings. Where are these pieces of equipment located and what is the desired routing since most of the other feeds are depicted on the plans?
Response 69: Contractor to extend existing cable and conduit for Cooling Coil fans to new MCC location.
89. What scope does Phase 1 Keynote 6 on G-004 which says REFEED EXHAUST FAN CABLE, refer to?
Response 89: Note 6 should say to provide new exhaust fan control panel for exhaust fans 7,8,9.
90. Please confirm if temp lighting will need to be maintained in the basement for other work than that under this scope (such as forge contractor scope).
Response 90: Temporary lighting should be scope of Forge Manufacturer, not this contract. Coordination for demo of existing and install of new lighting.
91. Please confirm what systems get heat traced. Additionally, please confirm if this is a delegated design item, if not provide more details.
Response 91: See response to RFI 75.
92. Please provide a detail for access to the electrical vault.
Response 92: See updated Drawing S-115. Also, for spec section 03 42 13.00 10, add "Access Hatch; G, AE" to paragraph 1.2, SD-03 and add Paragraph 2.2.4: "Access Hatch: Access hatch must provide a clear opening of 36 inches by 48 inches. The access hatch must be watertight when closed, must be lockable, must contain a flush drop handle and must have automatic hold open arms. Hatch material and embedded material must be aluminum, hinges and hardware must be 316 stainless steel.”
93. The existing Fire alarm system has only clear fire alarm strobes however, much of the campus has upgraded to a Clear/Amber lens combination for Fire alarm and Mass Notification signals. As building have going through major upgrades, Amber strobes have been added. Currently, Bldg. 135 has clear strobes, but the spec does mention Mass Notification. Should we propose Amber strobes in the locations of the newly added fire alarm notification devices?
This will however, not encompass the entire building. Please advise.
Response 93: Clear strobes shall be used for the purposes of fire alarm and mass notification for Building 135 which is consistent with existing conditions. Amber strobes will not be used.
94. As far as the Notification devices meeting the CIS Score of the Intelligibility tests per 3.6.3 of Spec section 281376, is this requirement only where we are adding new audible devices in this project or are all areas in the entire building required to meet that required CIS score. Please advise.
Response 94: The CIS score shall be measured only within the areas of the scope of work illustrated by boundary lines on the drawings.
95. Who will be the engineer of record (EOR) for this project? What is the sprinkler contractor expected to provide to satisfy the “delegated-design” requirement noted under “General Fire Protection Notes” note #1 on drawing F- 001? Will the fire sprinkler contractor only be responsible for submittals (equipment, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, etc.) for approval by the owner’s EOR?
Response 95: Coordinate with the General Contractor for distribution of contract responsibilities. The Owner's EOR will review submittals.
96. Will the fire sprinkler contractor be responsible for hiring a 3rd party Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) in accordance with UFC 3-600-01?
Response 96: See response to RFI 4.
97. Regarding the new 8” wet pipe fire water feed main, keyed note #5 on drawing F-112 states “protect fire water main with upright sprinkler heads on sprigs supplied by main”. Is it the intent to install the upright sprinkler head deflectors at the roof deck in accordance with NFPA 13 to protect said main?
Response 97: As required by NFPA 13; the 8" sprinkler main sprigs is approximately 24" to avoid obstruction of the sprinklers from the 8" horizontal fire sprinkler main below.
98. What is the seismic design category for this project? Is seismic bracing required?
Response 98: See Drawing S-001 for SDC and Risk Category. Seismic bracing is required as shown/specified.
99. Will the “Forge Pit” level located below the first-floor level control room require sprinkler coverage? No coverage is currently shown on the fire protection drawings.
Response 99: Not in the scope of this contract.
100. Please confirm that any work required by the Government to be performed off hours will be considered a change order to the contractor per specification 011400, paragraph 1.3.2.
Response 100: Refer to RFI 27 Response.
101. Will overhead gantry cranes be in use during normal working hours (7am-3:30pm) in the areas the fire protection overhead work is set to take place? If yes, will additional compensation be awarded to contractors impacted by any lost time caused by the overhead gantry crane use?
Response 101: Phasing plan and scheduled coordination will be required with COR. Refer to G-005.
102. Is there existing equipment that we are prohibited from working over top of with an ariel lift? If yes, what equipment and where?
Response 102: This is means and methods for how contractor accomplishes work. Coordination will be required with COR.
103. I see there is a guardrail along the East wall in the Control Room. Is there a guardrail along the East wall of the Equipment Room?
Response 103: There is no guardrail along the east wall of the control room. The Equipment Room is on the first floor and the east wall is masonry.
104. The detail J11/A502 shows a 3”x5” closure angle along the East wall in the Equipment room. Does this also occur along the East wall in the Control Room as well?
Response 104: The 3x5 sheet metal closure is intended to close the potential gap between the edge of the raised access floor and slope wall panel. The same approach is intended for the potential gap between the edge of the raised access floor and existing slope glass wall, closing as much of the gap as possible.
105. Sprinkler Items: Drawing F-112: Contract drawings (C-141/F-112) show a new water service being brought into the building for the sprinkler system. Structural drawings (S-112) do not show the required slab cut and infill required inside of the building to allow for installation of the 8” main turning up through the floor. Clarify floor saw cut and infill required for proper installation of water main.
Response 105: Remove existing slab to the extent shown for new work to allow the installation of the piping.
106. Sprinkler Items: Drawing F-501: Detail J13/F-501 shows the water service entering the building beneath the existing footing. Confirm existing footing elevation (TOF/BOF) and confirm whether flowable fill is required around pipe sleeve beneath footing.
Response 106: There is no footing at this location according to the original contract documents. It is an existing grade beam spanning between existing spread footings according to the original contract documents. Based on the original contract documents, the bottom of the grade beam is 4-feet BFF. That said, this response is based on the documents that we have, we cannot guarantee that the original as-built conditions are as shown on the documents that we have. Flowable fill is an acceptable alternative around the pipe as opposed to backfill and compaction of soil materials.
107. Sprinkler Items: Drawing F-112: Drawings F-112, F-113, and F-114 indicate to provide upright sprinklers fed from 8” bulk main to protect main. There is no alarm check valve, riser check valve, or flow switch indicated as being provided at the water service entrance on drawing F-112 therefore no means of detecting waterflow from the upright sprinklers noted. Confirm whether alarm check valve or riser check valve needs to be provided at water service entrance shown on drawing F-112.
Response 107: Agreed. A new 8" wet riser zone with control valve, riser check valve with tamper switch, flow switch and main drain will be required to provide required monitoring of the flow within the 8" sprinkler main.
108. Fire Alarm Items: FA/E-DWGS: Multiple 120V circuits are required for the fire alarm system (Nitrogen generator, FACU, NAC, four ASSD panels). Power circuits to these devices are not shown on the electrical drawings. Drawing FA601 indicates 120V circuit to FACU to be provided by Division 23 (mechanical), this appears to be a typo. Drawing FA001 general note #22 indicates that it is the responsibility of the contractor to provide power circuits and conduits to the new panels shown on the drawings. Please clarify the number of new 120V power circuits required to be provided and indicate where these circuits should be fed from (which panel and circuit).
Response 108: Electrical circuits are defined on panel schedule drawings E-701.
110. Mechanical: Please provide a duct construction standard for outdoor ductwork, the specs do not reference outdoor ductwork.
Response 110: Duct construction standards in all locations shall be as specified. Insulation and weatherproof jacketing is required per specification 23 07 00 section 3.3.6.
111. Mechanical: Is duct liner required for this project? If so, please provide a liner schedule.
Response 111: No duct liner is required.
112. Mechanical: For ductwork that is to be constructed to -30” wg, is it acceptable to have the point of connection be used as the duct reinforcement?
Response 112: This is acceptable.
113. The Oil Water Separator is depicted on Drawing E-125 and on plumbing drawing P-501 Detail A2 there is a note that states to see drawing M-702 for the required control Panel. Drawing M-702 does not depict an OWS control panel. Drawing M-704 detail A3 does depict the front of an OWS-1 Control panel, but nowhere is there any information as to whether this panel requires electrical or where it is physically located. Please clarify.
Response 113: M704 should be referenced for the panel instead of M702. Oil water separator panel location can be found on MI115. Provide low voltage power for OWS control panel. See response to bidder question 124.
114. The Panel Schedule for Panel PP-1 includes breakers for Forge Filter & dewatering aggregate, Forge Expansion Screw Heating Controls, Forge Auxiliary Hydraulic Unit, and Forge SCLE removal unit; however, the equipment isn’t found on any drawings. Where is this equipment located?
Response 114: These components are provided by the Forge Contractor. Coordination of final terminations shall be with the Forge Contractor.
115. Does the raised floor to be installed need to be grounded? If required, please provide grounding details or a description. Please advise.
Response 115: Provide a copper foil strips to meet the ground requirements of specification 09 69 13. Connect copper foil strip to structural member of control room connected to the ground grid.
116. Would you be able to confirm the CFM requirements? Drawing P-601 mentions 682 CFM for the compressor and 625 CFM for the refrigerated air dryer and the spec section 22 15 19.19 20 calls for 600 CFM.
Response 116: Provide complete air compressor enclosure system capable of the 682 CFM listed on the air compressor schedule.
117. Drawing P-601 schedule calls for an oil-flooded rotary screw compressor and in the spec section 22 15 19.19 20, 2.2.6 it calls for an oil-free rotary screw compressor. Please confirm if the project requires an oil-free or oil-flooded rotary screw air compressor.
Response 117: Provide oil-flooded per equipment schedule. Provide oil-flooded per equipment schedule.
118. Are you considering redundancy for the air compressor system in the event of a problem or for maintenance?
Please advise.
Response 118: Redundancy is provided through building's existing shop air systems. Tie into existing systems is noted on plans P-115 and P-301 with manual turnover valves noted on P-501 detail E11.
119. 5.3 Volume 1 – Factor 3 – Technical Approach of the Solicitation (page 30): The first paragraph is written for a Design-Build project. It references "The design-technical Factors," including presentation drawings and information regarding materials and system quality. Please clarify the requirements for this Design-Bid-Build Radial Forge Infrastructure project.
Response 119: The first paragraph is revised to: "The technical Factor consists technical approach narratives and information regarding material and system quality. It must clearly define the proposed scope and quality levels that the Offeror is proposing to the Government in enough detail for the Government and the Offeror to mutually understand whether or not the proposal meets or exceeds the minimum Solicitation requirements. "
120. The RFP documents state different project durations. The Solicitation SF1442 (page 1) shows 946 days, Section 52.211-10 (page 70) shows 1004 days, and the Specs Vol. 1, Section 01 11 00, part 1.1 (page 11) shows 792 days. Please clarify the project duration, including the final cleanup days.
Response 120: 946 Days.
121. Confirm that the compressed air system only feeds the Forge and will not affect any other equipment in the building. If temp services are required, please provide directions.
Response 121: The new compressed air system will only feed the forge. Relocating of the existing building's receiver tank should not affect the building’s operations as there are additional receiver tanks and compressors located in the building. This area should be isolated using the existing shutoff valves during this procedure.
Temporary services are not required.
122. Please confirm that the 6” oil line between column lines 11 & 12, shown to be removed (CD101) and reinstalled (C-131), between the building and manhole, is the total scope of work for the oil line. Will we tie into the existing pipe against the building? Is the below-grade oil pipe inside the building to remain?
Response 122: Tie oil waste line ties into the existing pipe at the building wall. The oil pipe inside the building is existing to remain.
123. The Exhaust Fan Control Panel on the MCC-100 one-line (E-601) is physically depicted on drawing E-115 and detailed on M-704. In the detail it states the control panel is for EF-1,2 & 3 however, EF-1 is the dust collector EF as noted on MCC-100 one-line E601 and the dust collector has a stand-alone controls panel also detailed on M-704, yet not physically depicted on any drawing. Can you please clarify the Exhaust Fan control scope, if not #1,2,&3, which Fans are controlled by the EF Control Panel? Is the Dust Collector Control Panel located out on the skid or is it going to be mounted remotely in the building somewhere?
Response 123: The dust collector control panel will receive the main power feed, with the control panel providing power to the associated exhaust fan. The Baghouse Exhaust fan on E-602 will be relabeled to DC-1. The existing exhaust fans 7, 8 and 9 located on the roof above the forge are powered by the control panel.
124. Is a separate power feed required for all control panels detailed on M-704 or are some of them Low Voltage powered? No new circuits are listed in the panel schedules or risers except the EF Control panel.
Response 124: Main power feeds shall power the panels for dust collector, cooling tower, and exhaust fans.
Provide low voltage power to OWS control panel.
125. Since the EF’s are depicted as being fed directly from the MCC, will the controls aspect of the EF Control Panel be completed by the BMS contractor?
Response 125: Design intent was for the BMS Contractor to complete this work; see the M-drawings for controls diagrams. Confirm scopes of work with the GC.
126. One-line Diagram E-600 depicts new MV originating from Breakers 52-3 & 52-5 and feeding downstream to Switchgear SWGR-3B1-3,5, yet the Cable schedule on E-702 & E-704 states the source breakers are 52-4 & 52-6 feeding Switchgear SWGR-3B1-4,6. Please confirm which breakers are correct.
Response 126: Breakers 52-3 and 52-5 are correct.
127. Demo drawing ED-115 depicts 2.4kV switchgear to be removed and the note states to remove all associated cable and conduit. How many feeds are coming into and out of the switchgear? Can a one-line be provided for the removal similar to the Forge MCC demo one-line?
Response 127: The 15kv rated switch in the existing substation has 3 sections. One section feeds the existing forge. The incoming feed from sub 3B1 and outgoing feed to the existing forge shall be removed in its entirety.
128. On demo one-line ED601 there are feeds depicted partially dashed and partially as a solid line that looks like it is to remain and possibly be extended to a new source, yet the note states to remove cable and conduit in entirety. Which is correct, can that conduit and/or feed remain and be extended, or does the entire feed need to be replaced with new?
Response 128: Exhaust Fans 1-6 can be extended via conduit to the new MCC. Exhaust fans 7-9 will be extended and fed from the new exhaust fan control panel.
134. Following up on our previous RFI, we have contacted multiple switch gear manufacturers and those wanting to submit a proposal are requesting an 8-week extension due to coordination needed with E-House manufacturers.
Please consider an 8-week bid extension to obtain these switchgear proposals.
Response 134: Refer to solicitation and amendments for submission date.
135. Regarding demolition, after further review of the drawings, more information is needed to estimate the disconnection of the items depicted on ED101 & ED102. None of the panels, cabinets, or disconnects on these drawings have details regarding the size of the feeds into these cabinets, the size and quantity of conduits/wires out of these items, or even where the conduits are run to. For estimating purposes, can a quantity, size, and length of the conduits be provided, or an allowance be stated to be included for the demo work?
Response 135: The information provided in the documents is the information available for bidding.
136. Another question came up, which is of spec section ’23 07 00 – Thermal Insulation for Mechanical Systems’. Under the table for insulation thickness, there are these items with asterisk marks assigned to them, but I don’t see where there are any notes to explain their meaning:
Response 136: The asterisks can be ignored.
137: Please provide the weight capacity of the 3/8” checkered plate, required for demolition coordination.
Response 137: See response to Bidder Question 51.
139. Confirm that slab removal associated with the floor trench extension is Slab on Grade.
Response 139: Based on the known information and the original construction documents it is a slab-on-grade.
141. RFI #31 states that the existing fire alarm in the work area is being removed completely including the existing stand-alone devices, Vesda piping, and detectors, however, no demo drawings are included for this work. Please provide demo drawings depicting the scope of the demo for the project.
Response 141: Demo drawings will not be provided for fire alarm. The demolition notes state that all fire alarm devices, systems conduits, wiring shall be demolished. The Drawings indicate the boundary scope of work.
142. RFI #43 states the fan labeled as EF-7 on E-601 should be relabeled EF-1. This does not seem correct because EF-1 is on E-602 and is scheduled as 100HP, while EF-7 is only scheduled as 25HP. Please confirm HP and feeder sizes.
Response 142: The power feed to the baghouse exhaust fan will be relabeled as DC-1. EF-1 is an existing 25hp fan on the roof.
143. In addition, RFI#43 states that EF-7, 8 & 9 are powered and controlled through the Exhaust Fan control panel.
Each EF-7, 8 & 9 are scheduled to be 25HP and are fed with 50A rated starters. Exhaust Fan Control Panel is only fed with a 50A feed. Are the exhaust fan HP ratings correct and is the feeder size to the Exhaust fan control panel correct? Please confirm.
Response 143: EF-7, 8 and 9 are existing 7.5 hp motors.
144. We previously RFI’d the circuits being fed out of panel PP-1 as noted on the panel schedule on E701. None of these forge-related items could be located on the drawings. Please clarify if these circuits are to be installed by this contract or if the forge contract is furnishing them. If this contract, please provide locations.
Response 144: See response to RFI 114.
145. Fire Protection drawings F-112, F-113, & F-114 show a new 8” Wet Pipe Fire Water Main from area A, supplying the new pre-action valve in area C. Various keynotes state “protect fire water main with upright sprinkler heads on sprigs supplied by main.” What is the intended elevation of this main? Please note NFPA 13 requires the sprinkler heads to be installed no more than 12” down from the underside of the roof.
Response 145: The existing building is not sprinklered, however it will be protected as part of a future project. It will not be required to meet these deflector distances for the fire main. However as required by NFPA 13; the 8" sprinkler main sprigs is approximately 24" to avoid obstruction of the sprinklers from the 8" horizontal fire sprinkler main below.
146. Fire Protection drawings F-112, F-113, & F-114 show a new 8” Wet Pipe Fire Water Main from area A, supplying the new pre-action valve in area C. Various keynotes state “protect fire water main with upright sprinkler heads on sprigs supplied by main.” NFPA 13 requires these sprinkler heads to be monitored by an alarm system.
The Fire Protection drawings do not show a new alarm device being installed in area A. Should a new alarm device be installed in area A on the discharge side of the new backflow assembly to monitor the sprinkler heads called out in the keynotes?
Response 146: Agreed. A new 8" wet riser zone with control valve, riser check valve with tamper switch, flow switch and main drain will be required to provide required monitoring of the flow within the 8" sprinkler main.
147. Fire Protection drawing F-401 calls out the pre-action valve to be installed in a cabinet. The written specifications do not seem to require this. Please confirm that the pre-action valve has to be provided in a pre-assembled, pre-manufactured cabinet and cannot be provided as loose.
Response 147: Provide a pre-engineered cabinet to minimize the footprint within the Fire Sprinkler Riser Room.
148. Have preliminary hydraulic calculations been performed to confirm the municipal water supply is adequate to supply the new pre-action system based on the design criteria called out on F-114 & F-401?
Response 148: Yes, preliminary calculations have been completed for the pre-action system and function with the domestic water pressure.
149. Is the municipal water supply information available?
Response 149: As identified in specification 21 13 18 - 1.2.1. 1. water supply for bidding purposes is included;
however, the contractor is responsible to provide a new flow test for their delegated work.
153. Is the new 8” main sized for a future phase, or can it be downsized based on the hydraulic calculations for the new pre-action system?
Response 153: The 8" main is sized for future use and cannot be reduced.
154. The electrical demo drawings do not provide enough detail. Sizes of equipment, sizes of cables and conduits, sources of circuits being removed, number of feeds entering and leaving equipment is all needed to properly estimate these items. Please provide more detail.
Response 154: The information provided in the documents is the information available for bidding.

156. The single line diagram on drawing E-602 shows the feeder from MCC-100 to SP-CP, SP-1, and SP-2 as 3-1/C #10 1-1/C #10G. The cable schedule on drawing E-703 shows these feeds as 3-1/C #12 1-1/C #12G. Which is correct?
Response 156: 3-1C #10 from MCC to SP-CP; 3-1C #12 from SP-CP to SP-1; 3-1C #12 from SP-CP to SP-2.
157. The single line on drawing E-600 shows the feeder from substation 3B1-B1 to cabinet +14 as 5 sets of 3-1/C #750. The cable schedule on E-703 shows this feed as 3-1/C #600. Which is correct?
Response 157: All power cables into and out of Subs 3B1-B1 and 3B1-B2 are 5 sets of (3-1/C 750 kcmil & 500 kcmil G). This includes the cables from T1-3B1 and T2-3B1 to Subs 3B1-B1 and 3B1-B2 and from those subs to Cabinets +12 and +14.
158. The single line diagram on drawing E-600 shows the feeder from substation 3B1-B2 to cabinet +12 as 5 sets of 3-1/C #750. The cable schedule on drawing E-703 shows this feed as 5 sets of 3-1/C #600. Which is correct?
Response 158: All power cables into and out of Subs 3B1-B1 and 3B1-B2 are 5 sets of (3-1/C 750 kcmil & 500 kcmil G). This includes the cables from T1-3B1 and T2-3B1 to Subs 3B1-B1 and 3B1-B2 and from those subs to Cabinets +12 and +14.
159. The single line on drawing E-601 shows the feeds for EF-7, EF-3. EF-3, EF-4, EF-5, EF-6 as being in ¾” conduit.
The conduit schedule for these feeds shows 1” conduit. Which is correct?
Response 159: 3/4" conduit is suitable.
160. Drawing E-119 shows conduits P-401 & P-421 coming in from the existing substation. Towards the top of the drawing there is a break indicating a gap in the linear distance. However, there is no dimension indicating the gap distance. Please provide the dimension of this gap.
Response 160: The distance depicted by the gap is approximately 35'-6".
161. Please provide locations for exhaust fans 2 through 6.
Response 161: See response to RFI 67.
162. Please provide location for cooling coil fans 1 & 2.
Response 162: See response to RFI 69.
163. Please provide the electrical requirements for the dust collector.
Response 163: The breaker feeding the baghouse exhaust fan shown on E-602 will be relabeled to DC-1.
164. Please provide the manufacturers nameplate information for the existing 480V forge switchgear. This is needed to have the correct new 800A breaker priced.
