b. The typical flat-top buildings are provided with heating hot water generated by steam that runs through a steam to hot water heat exchanger. Some buildings have their own heat exchangers and there are some heat exchangers that serve multiple buildings.

c. No more than a maximum of 20% of the buildings at the base have a heating-only air handler unit that also provides ventilation. The hot water heating and a few electric heating/unit heaters handle the heating duty for the rest of the buildings.

d. Some buildings have their own electric or fuel-fired boilers that operate on JP8 jet fuel.

e. Most buildings included in this project are served by hot water radiator terminal heating units with EMCS controlled thermostats and some of them are integral manual thermostats. These radiators are typically located on perimeter walls below or above windows or in corridors and are connected to exposed 1/2-inch (13mm) 316 stainless steel branch heating hot water piping. All new piping and fittings installed must match and use the same material as the existing piping and new material must not be introduced into a hydronic system unless otherwise reviewed and approved by the Contracting Officer

SECTION 01 11 00 Page 5

Representative (COR) and Thule AB prior to the installation.
