SECTION 01640
PIPE SCHEDULE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Schedule of 2-inch and larger pipelines indicating the type and service for pipe to be used. Pipe materials, installation requirements, and testing for pipe listed in the schedule are covered in other sections.
B. All pipelines indicated on the drawings or specified in other sections shall be furnished whether listed in the schedule or not.
1.2 RELATED REQUIREMENTS
A. Section 33 05 00 – Water and Sewer Relocations.
B. Attachment A, Division II Section 2200 – Sanitary Sewers
C. Attachment B, Division II Section 2300 – Waterlines
1.3 ALTERNATIVE PIPE MATERIALS
A. Where more than one pipe material is indicated in the schedule, the type of pipe material to be installed may be selected by the Contractor. The details on the drawings cover only one type of pipe for each line. If a different material is selected by the Contractor, all details of connections, jointing, wall fittings, support, anchorage, and harnesses shall be modified by the Contractor to produce an equivalent design acceptable to the Engineer.
1.4 WALL FITTING
A. Unless otherwise indicated on the drawings, a wall pipe, or sleeve will be required for all pipe passing through concrete or masonry block walls. All wall fittings and sleeves shall be as indicated on the drawings and as specified in the applicable piping section.
1.5 RESTRAINED JOINTS
A. Buried pipelines shall have restrained joints as indicated in Drawings. Restrained joints shall be designed for a pressure equal to or greater than the test or design pressure specified in the pipeline pressure and leakage testing section.
B. All connections to existing piping system are to be restrained. All restraints to be compatible with piping material.

C. Restrained DIP Push-On Joints shall be Griffin "Snap-Lok", or equal.
D. Retainer Glands to be provided on all Mechanical Joint Fittings and at other locations as noted on the plans shall be EBAA Iron Sales “Megalug”, suitable for DIP applications, no exceptions. Provide transition gaskets and adapters as needed for connecting pipe and pipe fittings of different materials.
1.5 PIPE SCHEDULE
A. The abbreviations used in the following schedule and the specification covering the pipe material are as follows:

B. Pipe materials shall conform to the following schedule. All pipelines indicated on the drawings and all pipelines required for proper operation of the equipment furnished shall be provided whether listed in the schedule or not.

C. Ductile Iron Pipe in sanitary sewer applications shall be lined with Induron’s Protecto
401™ Ceramic Epoxy or approved equal.
D. All water mains shall contain 12 ga. (HDPE Coated) Steel-Clad Copper Tracer wire manufactured for direct bury service, Agave, Copperhead, or approved equal. Wire shall be continuous without breaks. Splices shall be made with petroleum-filled wire nut caps suitable for direct bury service, 3M direct bury splice DBR/Y, or equal. Bring tracer wire to surface as shown on the plans. Use with all non-metallic water main subsidiary to the project.
