The motor shall be designed, constructed, and installed in accordance with ABS Rules and shall be ABS approved. The motor shall be provided with grease fittings and shall have positive means for preventing grease from being forced out upon the motor windings.
The motor will be exposed to the weather and therefore shall have IP-56 (watertight or weather tight) protection. The motor shall have class “H” insulation with a class “F” temperature rise rating based on a 50 degree C ambient temperature.
Anti-condensation space heaters shall be provided for the motor. Motor space heaters shall be powered from 120-VAC control power of the drive and shall be energized whenever the motor is secured and de-energized whenever the motor is operating.
