Q&A V.1

Q1-Please confirm is the plan approval and permits will be required from the Virgin Islands Department of the

Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) or will VIARNG be the only agency which will provide plan approval prior to construction?

A1-I Under review.

Q2-Please clarify the type of AC system (ie split system) and cooling capacity required. Please clarify what is meant by dual ducts. Do you want a separate ducted return or do you want to have two supply ducts down the length of the building?

A2-Central system with single compressor and single Air handler. Air handler has TWO (ie Dual) supply ducts that run the length of the building for even cooling throughout the building. Single point return in the vicinity of the air handler. Refrigeration sizing will be submitted with the design. Base load on standard warehouse use of the building.

Q3-Are there any specific utility requirements to be provided under this contract for the Ram Blast equipment (ie:

electric power, water supply, air exhaust, air compressor?

A3-No, none of the installation of the equipment is part of this contract. The electrical will be 208VAC

3PH 60HZ 600AMP service from the existing transformers. The facility will be lighted with 110VAC florescent fixtures and standard 110VAC 15amp service outlets throughout.

Q4-Are any equipment pads for the RAM Blast equipment to be built in by the Contractor?

A4-No.

Q5-Will special identification (badging) for Contractor personnel and vehicles be required to gain access to the work site?

A5-Yes there are identification requirements for entry to Estate Bethlehem. Specifics are worked out during the NTP and preconstruction meetings. The first requirement is a listing of all personnel that will be working on the job site. To gain entry personnel must be on this listing and show Picture ID verifying they are the person on the list. Once on the job site shirt/reflective vest/or hard hat with company name are sufficient for identification during work.

See: SW 1-06 TERM:

A. The Contractor and its employees shall be subject to and shall at all times conform with any and all rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the security at the above listed facilities. Any violations or disregard for the rules, regulations and policies may be cause for immediate termination of the Contractor.

B. The Contractor and its employees shall at all times produce and display picture identification identifying the individual as an employee of the vendor.

Q6-Please indicate the service size and pipe material for the new water line from CHP Cistern System to be provided.

A6-Specific design of the water line is part of the design build. Please submit in the design of the building what you want to use. Show that water service proposed will be sufficient for the restroom fixtures and complies with current plumbing codes.

Q7-Please indicate the type of material for the new underground 6-inch sewer line.

A7- Specific design of the sewer line is part of the design/build. Please submit in the design of the building what you want to use. Show that sewer line proposed will be sufficient for the facility and complies with current plumbing codes.

Q8-Please clarify if the overhead roll-up door is to be galvanized steel finish. Will the door be operated by automatic opener or manual operation?

A8-Door will be metallic and corrosion resistant. Specific design of door is part of the design for the facility. This is to be submitted with the design. Operation will be manual.

Q9-Please clarify if any finish is required on the new concrete floor slab. Will the toilet room floor finish be vinyl composition tile or ceramic tile?

A9-Entire floor throughout the facility will be sealed concrete.

Q10-Do you want a domestic hot water heater for the toilet room? If a hot water heater is required please specify type (ie electric) and capacity.

A10-No hot water tank.

Q11-Do you want a paint finish on the interior gypsum wall board partitions?

A11-Yes, prime and paint. Color white/eggshell, latex.

Q12-Will the contractor be permitted to construct a temporary fenced and secured enclosure adjacent to the work site for storage of materials and equipment?

A12-yes as needed. Coordination on site will be done as needed with Contracting Officer and CFMO personnel.

Q13-What format for the bid proposal is required? Is there a prepared bid form available? If not, is a cost break down for each work item required?

A13-Uploaded

Q14-Please indicate if a Bid Bond is required.
