About this file
This document comprises two technical manuals for marine propulsion equipment manufactured by Hundested Propeller A/S: a Marine Gear Manual for the CPG 120 model and a Propeller Manual for the MP700 model.
The CPG 120 Marine Gear is a 1200 kW, 1800 RPM propulsion gearbox with a 6.3:1 reduction ratio, classified as ABS. It features an integrated hydraulic clutch and multi-pitch control system powered by an internal double pump. The hydraulic system operates on SAE 30 mono-grade oil (approximately 90 liters) at 50-80°C, with maximum temperature of 85°C and mass of 2400 kg. Key components include a Danfoss PRR-044/022 double pump for pitch control (44 cm³/rev) and clutch (22 cm³/rev), Denison 4D01-3751-0902 clutch valve, Danfoss PVG 32 proportional valve for pitch control, and an MPS 150 suction filter. The system requires oil cooling via a Bloksma P13-P2-600 cooler and includes multiple control functions: clutch engagement via solenoid valve, pitch control via proportional valve with feedback pot-meter, clutch pressure alarm, pitch pressure alarm, thermostat alarm at 85°C, and oil level alarm. Installation requires proper alignment (maximum 8° inclination), thermal expansion consideration, and pre-launch adjustments. Maintenance includes oil changes after first 50 hours, then every 2000 hours or annually, pressure filter replacement at 1000-hour intervals, and suction filter replacement at oil changes. Emergency procedures include a hydraulic clutch compression device and emergency pitch-fixing mechanism via grease pump injection. The unit includes one-year warranty from date of use, maximum two years from delivery, under Danish law.
The MP700 Propeller is a four-blade, 2286mm diameter unit rated at 1200 horsepower and 286 RPM, manufactured from nickel-aluminum-bronze. The hub contains 40 kg of water-emulsifying grease and weighs approximately 1750 kg total with blades. The propeller shaft is CK45N or ABS grade 4 material, 235/206/200mm outside diameter at bearings, 70mm inside diameter, weighing approximately 3282 kg. Installation requires water-emulsifying grease lubrication (specific brands recommended: FINA Lical 8561, Castrol Impervia GS, Texaco Marfak, or equivalents) pumped through the flange coupling grease nipple until backpressure occurs. Assembly includes blade feet with integrated pins in slipper blocks, end cover with 389 Nm bolt torque, zink-anode with 47 Nm bolt torque, and blade mounting with 2000 Nm bolt tension. Lubrication occurs weekly or every 100 operating hours through the grease nipple. Maintenance includes overhaul every fifth year, checking blade wear and deformation (maximum 0.5mm clearance), and inspection of slipper blocks and pins. Corrosion protection utilizes zinc-anodes replaced during dry-docking. The propeller includes one-year warranty from date of use, maximum two years from delivery, under Danish law, with service support available from Hundested Propeller A/S in Denmark.
