About this file
This document contains a report from an inspection of the dredge Yaquina Launch conducted on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The inspection included a visual examination of the hull and structural stiffening below the waterline, as well as liquid penetrant testing and positive material identification at various locations. The inspection found indications of pitting, fractures, and surface roughness. Liquid penetrant testing revealed fractures in the bottom plate, rudder stock hull penetration, and a frame weld. Positive material identification determined the vessel is constructed of aluminum alloy 5086 in all locations tested.
Also included is a solicitation from the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Portland for overhaul work on the dredge Yaquina in fiscal year 2024. No other details are provided on the products, services, pricing, or terms required under the solicitation.
