EXHIBIT G – WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT
GENERAL
This exhibit includes additional information for wildlife management services.
An overall map of the project is located in Exhibit K.
LOCATION OF WORK
All government-owned lands at Youghiogheny River Lake may be areas serviced under this section. Some of these areas are remote and may be steep, rocky, and uneven terrain.
Poison ivy abounds. Four-wheel drive vehicles may be required in some areas. Specific locations will be noted on task orders.
Hinge Cuts Hinge cuts along the shoreline will be cut as indicated in Section 7.4.5. In addition, a hole will be drilled in both the stump and bole (trunk) of the tree and a stainless steel cable of at least 5/32 inch diameter will be routed through these holes and attached to secure the bole to the stump. If needed, the bole may be cut down further to a smaller diameter to do this. If so, the resulting loose piece of wood will be taken off the lake and disposed of in the Spillway burnpile.
Mowing Herbaceous Vegetation Herbaceous vegetation will be mowed to a 6 to 8 inch height. Flail type mowers or weedeaters may be used.
