32. During the site visit, the government acknowledged that the drawings currently available to the contractors were not the final drawings to bid from and that updated drawings would be posted in an Amendment. As the contractors did not have the complete information available at the site visit to assess the current scope of work we request a 2nd site visit to assess the space. Please advise.
DPW believes a second site visit is not necessary for this project. The government will not be organizing a follow on site visit for this solicitation.
33. During the site visit, the government acknowledged that the drawings currently available to the contractors were not the final drawings to bid from and that updated drawings would be posted in an Amendment. As the contractors did not have the complete information available prior to the Q&A suspense date we are requesting an additional Q&A period be provided after the final drawings have been posted. This was discussed during the site visit with the government team who concurred that this made sense. Please provide a new due date for submission of additional Q&A once updated drawings have been provided.
Revisions to drawings provided clarity to contract requirements and do not warrant an RFI extension.
34. It appears that the majority of Civil Demolition on CD101 has already been completed by another contract, however there were concrete steps where a roof overhang used to exist that were still in place where we entered the building during the site visit. Will these steps require demolition as part of this contract?
Yes, reference revise sheet drawing AD101
35. It appears that the majority of Civil Demolition on CD101 has already been completed by another contract, however there was a concrete entry into the old mechanical room that was still in place where we entered the building during the site visit. Will this concrete entry require demolition as part of this contract?
Yes, reference revised sheet AD101
36. During the site visit we observed that the existing concrete floor is severely damaged it appears from the demolition that took place in the space. A-601 shows that the majority of the building is to receive Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT-2). In order to install LVT a floor needs to be level with little to no issues with floor flatness. In order to ensure the floors are ready to receive LVT it appears that the entire building will likely need a topping slab installed to level the surface. This does not appear to be indicated in the drawings as a requirement and would not be apparent to those that did not attend the site visit. Will the government include installing a new topping layer across the entire interior slab so that new flooring can be installed?
Refer to revised sheet AD101 for finish floor and topping requirements.
37. Sheet CP503 includes TXDOT retaining wall details. Where do these apply on the project?
Refer to revised drawings.
38. During the site visit it appeared that all plumbing, HVAC, and electrical piping in the building had already been demolished so we assume this will be removed from the scope when the amended drawings are provided. Has all of this piping also been demolished from the crawl space?
Crawl space plumbing has not been demolished. Refer to revised contract drawings for demolition requirements.
39. During the site visit we observed several corners where interior CMU walls were heavily damaged from demolition. The current scope documents do not address CMU wall repairs which are sporadic throughout the building. Will this be addressed in the new drawings? If not, please advise on repair procedure and number of locations.
Refer to architectural drawings A-303 & A-604 for all wall requirements. If drawings do not indicate to repair walls then wall is not to be repaired.
40. A-301 Detail 3 references the A-301/4 Eave Detail. This detail indicates existing metal decking to remain. During the site visit we observed that the metal deck had significant damage and looked to need to be replaced in its entirety. Please confirm if the metal deck is to be replaced entirely.
Refer to RFI response #12.
41. On S-1011 there are a multitude of foundation repairs required. Are these repairs all in the crawl space or within the building?
Refer to drawings for repair locations.
42. There appears to be a significant amount of work within the crawl space. What is the depth of the crawl space so we can determine clearances to work.
Refer to as-built drawings for existing conditions within the crawl space.
43. Will any work be required to be completed by American Water on this project?
Yes. Refer to Revised drawings and technical exhibit D.
44. Will any work be required to be completed by Dominion on this project?
Yes. Refer to Revised drawings and technical exhibit C & E.
45. The solicitation indicates that the Superintendent and Quality Control Manager are key personnel. Can one of these individuals also serve as the Site Safety and Health officer?
Yes - Superintendent, reference Division 1 Specification Sections 01 35 29 & 01 45 01.00 20.
46. What is the current roof system assembly present on the roof. We need to know exactly how much roof we are tearing out to give an accurate estimate.
Refer to revised drawings and As-built drawings.
47. What will the extent of roof deck replacement be?
Refer to RFI Response #12
48. Drawing A-301/4 calls for ½” plywood under the SSMR, Spec section 07 22 00.3.2.2.1 calls for ½” wood fiber or gypsum roof board or ¾” expanded perlite. Do we estimate according to the spec or the drawing?
Refer to revised contract drawings.
