a. There are two possible formats for information marked on an IUID data plate and encoded in the 2-D data matrix:

(1) Manufacturer IUID Data Plate. Currently not available. Pending Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) completion.

(2) Legacy IUID Data Plate (Figure 1-3). The IUID data plate contains two 2-D data matrices. One data matrix is encoded with a Construct 1 UII that uses TEIs, SPL (Suppliers CAGE code) and UCN (supplier's unique component number) as data qualifiers. The second data matrix is encoded with the item's PNR (current part number). The PNR being the item's General Electric's (GE's) part number upon completion of the maintenance/repair/overhaul event.

1-5.2. IUID Data Plate Fabrication (Figure 1-3). Prior to fabrication of the IUID data plate, the Department of Defense (DOD) IUID Registry shall be queried per paragraph 3-4.1.1.

a. The Anti Bleed Start Valve IUID data plate is fabricated out of adhesive backed black matte anodized aluminum material that meet the physical requirements per MIL-DTL-15024, Type L.

NOTE

The PNR to be marked on the data plate and encoded in the 2-D data matrix, is the final GE part number upon completion of maintenance/repair/overhaul.

b. The MRI and Human Readable Information (HRI) shall be marked on the IUID Data Plate using an Epilog Laser Marking System (table 2-1), Metal Photographic or other acceptable marking technique in accordance with MIL-STD-130.

c. If the component does not have a IUID data plate or it has an UII that is not registered or not registered correctly in DOD IUID Registry per paragraph 3-4.1.1, then an IUID data plate shall be fabricated per step b, c and the following:

(1) A Construct 1 UII shall be encoded into a 2-D data matrix IAW the DOD Guide to Uniquely Identifying Items and/or MIL-STD-130. The UII can be constructed by the overhaul/repair facility using one of the following methods:

(a) Use the overhaul facility's SPL (CAGE) and UCN or

(b) Generate using AMCOM's Maintenance Consolidated Database System (MCDS) at https://tamms-a.redstone.army.mil.

(2) The item shall be registered in the DOD IUID Registry (see Appendix A) in accordance with the data submission procedures at:

http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/pdi/uid/index.html.
