About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a media blasting booth system solicitation. The solicitation seeks proposals for media blasting booth(s) to be installed outside at a facility. The booths must not remove conditioned air from the building bay area. Sand cannot be used as the media and ducting will need to be supplied from the booths to an undisclosed location on site. Clarification was requested on concrete flooring and grating that could support a 40,000 pound load. The related solicitation is from the Department of the Army Materiel Command Joint Munitions Command for proposal number W52P1J-22-R-3028 and its accompanying statement of work.

Text version
* Are the booths to be installed indoors, or outside? This sentence from your note: at the end is a bit confusing. It says booths need to be outside the building, but they don't want to remove conditioned air from the bay. Is it to be installed in a bay, or outside? Booths need to be installed outside the building. AMU is needed because it will make up the air removed by the ventilation system. We don't want to remove the conditioned air from the bay. Blast Booth inside,
* We would not supply an AMU Hot Water System. We would suggest they return the dust collector exhaust to their building (assuming it's installed in the bay where conditioned air is). Its required
* Sand can not be used in any Empire equipment. If they can't use a different media, we can't quote it. Again from their Note: at the end - Sand media should be used. Sand is the media
* You asked that ducting be supplied. Can we get a drawing of where it will be located? Is it 10' away or 100'? A facility drawing would also be helpful so we can make sure there are no interferences. Site visits are available.
* Are you sure you want 40,000 lb. capacity grating? That's really expensive. It's a U-shaped floor which would allow the forklift to drive through the center where the concrete would support the load. We would cover the cross auger with a steel plate that would allow the forklift to drive all the way through. Concrete floor/grating with u shape augers recovery system to hold 40,000lbs load.
