Media Blasting Booth Questions and Answers 8

1. Is there an existing building already in place that this Booth will be placed inside of? Yes

2. Can a plan view and a side view of building be provided with a layout position of were the Booth will be located with sidewall height and overall building height dimensions on the drawings so that a correct ducting layout can be done to determine amount of ducting and elbows and such can be determined? This info is critical to determine how far the Dust Collector will be from the Blast room and to be able to correctly size the Motor and such for the Dust Collector. The dust collector will be within 100’ of the booth. Sketches and locations will be provided after the award of contract.

3. Will the surface outside of the building be concrete for the Dust Collector to be installed on? If not, what will it be? Yes, a concrete pad will be provided. Required dimensions of equipment pad should be provided by contractor after award.

4. What will the building construction be for the penetration for the Ducting to the Dust Collector?

Is there any chance you will require the Ducting to go through the ceiling rather than a sidewall?

Sidewall

5. 2.2.17 states a Programable Control Panel. Please explain what you are expecting to be able to program. Most of what a system like this requires are a start and stop for the various features and components. Whatever the control panel your company uses. This can be disregarded. Start/Stop switches for the various systems are sufficient.

6. 2.2.20 states MCAAP will provide air and electric to the area. Can you be more specific as to how close to the Blast Room this will be? Distances matter in the costs of time, material and labor involved in connecting the utilities to a piece of equipment.

Within in feet of the equipment. Preferably contractor, after award and at install shall identify single point for each utility where utility service is required and MCAAP shall service to that point. Contractor shall be responsible

7. Will MCAAP be providing a Dryer, water/oil separator and a reserve air storage tank so that clean, dry air can be provided to the Blast Pots and Dust Collector? Yes

8. If MCAAP chooses to do their own installation, will they provide their own equipment to off load it from delivery truck? McAAP will not be installing

9. If MCAAP chooses to do their own installation, will they want or need the services of a site supervisor from the vendor to assist with the installation? See question 8

10. Will MCAAP have the foundation, pit and utilities completed by the time the Booth arrives so that there will not be a delay in installation? Can’t answer that until after the contract has been awarded and an estimated delivery and install date is established. The winner of the contract award will need to provide MCAAP with drawings for the foundation, pit, and utilities. In part this will depend on how fast the contractor can provide the required drawings to MCAAP. Once MCAAP has the drawings, we will strive to insure everything is ready per the installation schedule to prevent any delays.

11. What will be the hours and days of operation allowed if the Vendor is doing the installation? If the installation takes several days beyond 1 work week, will MCAAP be allowed to work outside of normal hours in order to allow the vendor to complete the install and not have to continue to return to the jobsite. Normal working hours are 0600‐1630 Monday – Thursday, the additional days can be provided as long as it is scheduled beforehand.
