Questions and Answers #3 Solicitation W50S9G-21-R-0001 Renovate Bldg 522
1) What is the purpose of the “gate post/end post foundation” diagram on C-002? It calls for a 6 5/8” & 4.5” at the same 2 top corners. The tower fence area is the area in question.
The gate post and end posts are required to be separate posts. The gate only requires a 4.5” post and the end post must be 6.625”.
2) The drawing calls for 4.5” gate posts (4” would be standard. Nobody stocks a 4.5” that I am aware of) but the spec book calls out 6.625” ends, corners and pulls.
4.5” is required.
3) The drawing calls out for 2.875” line posts (3”). The vertical outriggers for the barb wire only accommodate a 2.5” post. Outriggers would not fit unless each was modified to fit.
Line posts are required to be 2.875”. Please provide the appropriate outriggers.
4) Please clarify all posts sizes, see above questions. See above.
5) Please also clarify mix designs for the asphalt patching, there is some uncertainty in what is actually required.
Please use the aggregates as specified in the sections noted. The surface and intermediate courses shall be 5-LT-58-28-S and the base course shall be 3-LT-58-28-S.
Revised answer to Question 14) on Questions and Answers 2 14May2021
1. Alternate 4 calls for Automatic door operator in lieu of surface mounted closure for door with hardware set 51. On the hardware schedule, there are no doors called out which receive hardware set 51.
It is the intent that Set 51 be for the Alternate #4 that includes upgraded acoustical doors and Automatic openers. The SCIF locks should be included for set #51 (revised hardware set attached) Updated response, “ Hardware set #51 shall be assigned to door number 217. Please refer to Specification Section 01 2300 – Alternates for clarification regarding this hardware set.”
For Reference:
