About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding solicitation number W50S9C-22-B-0004 from the Vermont Army National Guard to replace an existing 81-ton roof-mounted chiller on Building 120 with a ground-mounted chiller. The project scope includes removal of the existing chiller; installation of new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the replacement chiller; modifications to the flightline fence; and sequenced transfer of operations to the new chiller followed by demolition of the existing chiller. Special requirements are specified for attaching brackets to the simulator wall and capping pipes and conduits penetrating the roof of the secure facility. The questions and answers provide clarification on the type of insulation and jacket allowed for exterior piping, the weight of the existing chiller, the intent to remove a section of fence, existing glycol percentage in the system, lightning protection requirements, and securing of vertical pipes to the simulator wall.

Answer: The existing chiller weighs approximately 12,000 lbs.

3. Question: Please confirm the location of the existing 2-way valve within the Special Access Program

Facility (SAPF) that requires replacement with a 3-way valve and describe access situation in the area of the valve?

Answer: That note has been removed as the existing 2-way valve at HVAC-1 shall remain and a bypass valve on a 2-1/2” bypass line with a circuit setter set for 105 GPM.

4. Question: Please confirm the intent is to remove the section of existing fence on C-1 where the new bump out around the Chiller is indicated?
